The notification of the information represents the sheet types in a notification order decided based on the reference attribute values stored in the history information and the attribute value obtained by the measurement unit.

A medium output control device includes a processor configured to: perform control to output, among plural mediums to be output, a medium without a defect to a first output location; perform control to output, among the plural mediums, a medium with a defect to an output location different from the first output location; and perform control to, after the medium with a defect is output to the output location different from the first output location, keep outputting a medium without a defect among the plural mediums to the first output location until a quantity of mediums output to the first output location reaches a predetermined quantity.

A medium output control device includes a processor configured to: perform control to output, among plural mediums to be output, a medium without a defect to a first output location; perform control to output, among the plural mediums, a medium with a defect to an output location different from the first output location; and perform control to, after the medium with a defect is output to the output location different from the first output location, keep outputting a medium without a defect among the plural mediums to the first output location until a quantity of mediums output to the first output location reaches a predetermined quantity.

A method comprises obtaining a training dataset, the training dataset comprising sheet passage interval information associated with conveyance of a plurality of sheets in a sheet conveyance path of a training sheet processing apparatus, at least a portion of the sheets of the plurality of sheets having a known sheet classification of a set of sheet classifications; obtaining sheet timing data associated with the classifying, the sheet timing data comprising sheet passage interval information associated with conveyance of a predetermined number of sheets in the sheet conveyance path of a deployed sheet processing apparatus; classifying, using a machine learning model and the training dataset and the sheet timing data, for each interval window of a plurality of different interval windows, a predetermined number of sheets in a sheet conveyance path of a deployed sheet processing apparatus as a particular classification of the set of sheet classifications; and adjusting, based on the classifying, one or more operational parameters of a deployed sheet processing apparatus.

A method comprises obtaining a training dataset, the training dataset comprising sheet passage interval information associated with conveyance of a plurality of sheets in a sheet conveyance path of a training sheet processing apparatus, at least a portion of the sheets of the plurality of sheets having a known sheet classification of a set of sheet classifications; obtaining sheet timing data associated with the classifying, the sheet timing data comprising sheet passage interval information associated with conveyance of a predetermined number of sheets in the sheet conveyance path of a deployed sheet processing apparatus; classifying, using a machine learning model and the training dataset and the sheet timing data, for each interval window of a plurality of different interval windows, a predetermined number of sheets in a sheet conveyance path of a deployed sheet processing apparatus as a particular classification of the set of sheet classifications; and adjusting, based on the classifying, one or more operational parameters of a deployed sheet processing apparatus.

A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit including a pair of rotation members that nip a roll sheet, and configured to convey the sheet by rotation of the pair of rotation members, a printing unit, and a control unit configured to, upon executing a new print job, cause the conveyance unit to perform a preparatory operation in which the sheet is conveyed in a forward direction and then conveyed in a reverse direction and stopped. If a predetermined condition is met after completion of a previous print job, the control unit causes the conveyance unit to perform the preparatory operation, and if the predetermined condition is not met after completion of a previous print job, the control unit does not cause the conveyance unit to perform the preparatory operation.

A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit including a pair of rotation members that nip a roll sheet, and configured to convey the sheet by rotation of the pair of rotation members, a printing unit, and a control unit configured to, upon executing a new print job, cause the conveyance unit to perform a preparatory operation in which the sheet is conveyed in a forward direction and then conveyed in a reverse direction and stopped. If a predetermined condition is met after completion of a previous print job, the control unit causes the conveyance unit to perform the preparatory operation, and if the predetermined condition is not met after completion of a previous print job, the control unit does not cause the conveyance unit to perform the preparatory operation.

An image forming apparatus includes: an obtaining unit configured to obtain an image; an identification unit configured to identify a type of paper on which the image obtained by the obtaining unit is printed; a gamma correction unit configured to subject the image obtained by the obtaining unit to gamma correction based on the type of the paper identified by the identification unit; a saving unit configured to save the image after being subjected to the gamma correction; and a unit configured to stop printing of the image based on a failure of the identification unit to identify the type of the paper on which the image is printed.

An image forming apparatus includes: an obtaining unit configured to obtain an image; an identification unit configured to identify a type of paper on which the image obtained by the obtaining unit is printed; a gamma correction unit configured to subject the image obtained by the obtaining unit to gamma correction based on the type of the paper identified by the identification unit; a saving unit configured to save the image after being subjected to the gamma correction; and a unit configured to stop printing of the image based on a failure of the identification unit to identify the type of the paper on which the image is printed.
