An image reading apparatus includes a document setting table, an image data generation unit, a downsized image data generation unit, a document information generation unit, and an image cropping unit. The image data generation unit reads a plurality of source documents placed on the document setting table and generates image data representing the plurality of source documents. The downsized image data generation unit generates downsized image data by reducing a size of the image data. The document information generation unit analyzes the downsized image data to detect respective positions of the plurality of source documents and generate document information indicating the detected positions. The image cropping unit cuts out a plurality of regions from the image data according to the document information and acquires a plurality of items of cropped image data respectively representing the plurality of source documents.

A hierarchical printhead system supports multiple print modes. A first print mode uses a first subset of light sources having a first spacing. A second print mode uses a second subset of light sources having a second spacing which is less than the first spacing. Image data for lines of image data are sequentially loaded into the printhead, wherein if the specified print mode is the first print mode, image data for a first group of light sources corresponding to the first subset are loaded, and if the specified print mode is the second print mode, image data for the first group of light sources are first loaded, and then image data for a second group of light sources corresponding to the light sources in the second subset that are not in the first subset are loaded.

A print control method in an information processing apparatus includes a registration step of accepting via a setting screen a registration of a print setting for one or more specific pages of a print target including one or more pages, a storage step of storing in a storage device the print setting accepted by the registration step with corresponding identification information identifying the specific pages, a first displaying step of displaying on the setting screen the identification information of the specific pages stored by the storage step, a selection step of accepting via the setting screen a selection of identification information displayed in the first displaying step, and a second displaying step of displaying on the setting screen the print setting corresponding to the identification information whose selection is accepted in the selection step.

An image forming apparatus including: a light irradiating unit configured to irradiate a photosensitive member charged by a charging unit with light to form an electrostatic latent image; a processing unit configured to generate M-bit (M is an integer not less than 2) density data indicating a density based on the input image data, to generate (M+N)-bit processing data based on the M-bit density data and N-bit (N is an integer not less than 1) correction data, to convert the processing data into a plural-bit binary drive data corresponding to a value of the processing data, and to serially output the plural-bit drive data bit by bit to generate a drive signal; and a drive unit configured to drive the light irradiating unit based on the drive signal.

A method of generating control data for a printing system includes receiving image data comprising an image to be printed by the printing system, determining a presence of a control mark in the image data, and generating control data for the printing system based on the control mark, the control data including at least an indication of the presence of the control mark.

A mobile apparatus includes a group setting section and a providing section. The group setting section sets one or more groups each having multiple members. When the multiple members are connected by using one or more straight lines, all of the multiple members are positioned so as to be connected by one or more straight lines each equal to or shorter than a predetermined threshold. A printing computing device connects to a multi-function printing (MFP) device to enable additional functionality and capabilities not offered by the MFP device. The printing computing device connects to a network to receive print jobs from external devices within the network. The printing computing device processes the print jobs according to rules such that print jobs are processed accordingly. The printing computing device also includes firmware not available on the MFP device such that print jobs not supported by the MFP device still may be processed. The printing computing device also includes an engine that determines whether an incoming print job is a PDL print job or a command to perform a function not available on the MFP device.

The encoded data is encoded data including, for a respective one of the blocks, first compressed data in which quantized values obtained by performing orthogonal transformation for a respective one of N color components are each compressed, and second compressed data in which, by using a dictionary in which a plurality of different colors are registered as indexes, a corresponding one of the indexes associated with the color of each pixel is compressed. The decoding section decodes the first compressed data in N cycles and decodes the second compressed data in one cycle to obtain print data decoded in units of the blocks.
