A method for printing a strip-shaped material to be printed uses a printing unit of a roller printer. Output data for actuating at least one printing machine printing unit component, which determines the shape of printing images, is generated from stored template image data of a complete printing image in order to generate a printed complete printing image. The complete printing image is determined or described in a primary data packet, and the dimensions of the complete image, which dimensions are measured in a template direction, are assigned to the complete printing image in the template image data or the primary data packet. The dimensions of the complete image are compared with a threshold, and if the threshold is exceeded, the complete printing image is divided into a plurality of sections with respect to the template direction, with the plurality of sections being determined or described in a plurality of secondary data packets. The sections are produced on the material to be printed by printing processes which are carried out by the printing unit and during each of which, output data, based on at least one of the secondary data packets, is processed.

A printing apparatus includes: a main controlling circuit; a sub-controlling circuit group including sub-controlling circuits connected in series; and heads. The print data includes data of a plurality of pixels. The main controlling circuit is configured to execute: generation of, based on the print data, data of first to n-th pixel groups regarding the first to n-th pixel groups each including pixels which are not adjacent (n2), and transmission of the data of the first to n-th pixel groups to the sub-controlling circuit group. Each of the plurality of sub-controlling circuits is configured to execute: obtainment of data of pixels which are associated with each of the plurality of sub-controlling circuits, from the data of the first to n-th pixel groups, and driving of one of the plurality of heads corresponding thereto, based on the data of the pixels.

An image forming apparatus installed on an inside of a firewall includes a processor configured to transmit, to an information processing apparatus installed on an outside of the firewall, an image generated in accordance with an instruction of a user, process information indicating a content of a process on the image, and storage destination information indicating a storage destination of a process image obtained in a manner that the information processing apparatus executes the process according to the process information on the image, and perform control of causing the information processing apparatus to directly store the process image in a storage destination on the outside of the firewall in a case where the storage destination of the process image obtained from the storage destination information is the storage destination on the outside of the firewall.
