The disclosure is directed towards a system and method for using a multicore processor to process a printer definition language (PDL). The system improves efficiency by supporting parallel processing of many commonly used PDLs, while also supporting serial processing of many legacy PDLs. When processing a PDL, the system relies on several stages, including a parsing stage, a printer drawings services stage, and a graphic services stage, which includes order generation. The system provides flexibility by permitting function calls of common PDLs to be either asynchronous requests or blocking synchronous requests. Because legacy PDLs are executed serially, legacy PDL requests are considered to be blocking synchronous requests. The system provides a level of abstraction at the PDL level by allowing multiple requests to be combined into a compound asynchronous request. The system also improves accuracy by notifying the original caller of a request about an error during error handling.

A liquid surface detector includes an electrode pad, a coil, a memory, and a detection control circuit. The electrode pad is attached to an outer side surface of a tank of the image forming apparatus. The coil is connected to the electrode pad. The memory stores initial values. The detection control circuit determines a capacitance (first capacitance) of a first resonance circuit including the coil and the tank with the electrode pad. When determining a liquid surface level value, the detection control circuit subtracts an error value from the first capacitance so as to determine a first corrected capacitance, and determines the liquid surface level value based on the first corrected capacitance and the initial value.

A medium output control device includes a processor configured to: perform control to output, among plural mediums to be output, a medium without a defect to a first output location; perform control to output, among the plural mediums, a medium with a defect to an output location different from the first output location; and perform control to, after the medium with a defect is output to the output location different from the first output location, keep outputting a medium without a defect among the plural mediums to the first output location until a quantity of mediums output to the first output location reaches a predetermined quantity.

An information processing device includes a storage portion storing a learned model trained by machine learning based on a data set in which temperature information, setting information, and countermeasure information are associated, a reception portion receiving the temperature information and the setting information at a time of ejecting ink by the printing head, and a processing portion deciding a countermeasure to be executed for condensation based on the received temperature information and setting information and the learned model.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on an image bearing member based on an image forming condition; a transfer unit configured to transfer the image formed on the image bearing member onto a sheet; a first reading sensor configured to read a first image for adjustment which has been formed on the sheet; a second reading sensor configured to read a second image for adjustment which has been formed on the image bearing member; and a controller configured to: generate the image forming condition based on reading results of the first image for adjustment on a plurality of sheets, which are obtained by the first reading sensor; and generate the image forming condition based on a reading result of the second image for adjustment, which is obtained by the second reading sensor.

A printing system is provided with a dummy data insertion unit configured to insert dummy data into print data based on waiting time occurring when post-processing is performed by a post-processing device (for example, a collating machine). In a printing unit, a dummy page is printed on the basis of the dummy data. A dummy page removing unit configured to remove a dummy page from printed printing paper so that the dummy page is not supplied to the post-processing device is provided between the printing device and the post-processing device.

In some examples, a system detects an error in an printing device, and selects a combination of a medium advance error correction process to address a medium advance error and a faulty nozzle correction process to address a faulty nozzle, where the selecting of the combination is from a plurality of different combinations of the medium advance error correction process and the faulty nozzle correction process, and the selecting is based on a criterion relating to an interaction between the medium advance error and faulty nozzle correction processes.

An image forming apparatus includes: an obtaining unit configured to obtain an image; an identification unit configured to identify a type of paper on which the image obtained by the obtaining unit is printed; a gamma correction unit configured to subject the image obtained by the obtaining unit to gamma correction based on the type of the paper identified by the identification unit; a saving unit configured to save the image after being subjected to the gamma correction; and a unit configured to stop printing of the image based on a failure of the identification unit to identify the type of the paper on which the image is printed.

An obtaining unit obtains a first image serving as a read image of an inspection target medium having undergone printing, and a second image serving as a read image of a reference medium representing a target print result. An inspection unit inspects a defect on the inspection target medium based on the first image and the second image by performing inspection at inspection settings different between a print region and a peripheral region of the inspection target medium.
