The invention relates to a method and device for detecting and decoding a two-dimensional encoded pattern, e.g. of the Robust Encoding Pattern type (REP), even in case the pattern is applied on a non-uniform colored background of a surface of a substrate. The operations for decoding such an encoded pattern involve detecting the states of its symbols through a test pattern, checking that local differences between parameter values of the elements of the symbols are consistent with an allowed representation of the test pattern to assign via a one-to-one mapping the states of the symbols of the test pattern to the corresponding symbols of the encoded pattern, and decoding the encoded pattern based on the assigned representation of its symbols.

An electronic device including a processor and a display device is disclosed. The processor is configured to receive data and to generate at least one code according to an angular display algorithm. The at least one code includes an angular profile of the data. The display device is coupled to the processor and configured to receive the at least one code from the processor and to display the at least one code according to the angular profile. The angular profile includes a plurality of light intensities corresponding to a plurality of viewing angles. A number of the at least one code is adjusted according to a security of the data, and when the number of the at least one code increases, the number of the plurality of viewing angles to display the at least one code increases.

A server is used to receive a barcode generation request sent by an end-user device. The server is used to generate, based on the barcode generation request, at least two pieces of barcode information by using at least two code systems, respectively. The server is used to transmit a barcode generation response to the end-user device, where the barcode generation response includes the at least two pieces of barcode information, where the barcode generation response causes an application running on the end-user device to display on the end-user device, alternately, a respective barcode image corresponding to each piece of the at least two pieces of barcode information.

A system contributing to prevention of unauthorized use of an information code displayed on a screen. In the system, an information code display device cyclically displays a plurality of partial code images on a display screen of a display unit based on a first rule when the first rule is received from a server in response to a first request to the server. Accordingly, an information code reading device captures images of the display screen at imaging intervals according to a second rule which is received from the server by in response to a second request to the server to decode an information code composed of the plurality of images thus captured, according to the second rule.

A method implemented in a computer program for verifying the conformity and/or authenticity of an article is described, which comprises assigning a pair of random codes (C1) and (C2) to a given article (A), and the linkage of the codes to the article is stored in a database (BD1) accessed through an application and one of the codes being illegible only with the violation of the primary packaging (Pp), so that the verification of authenticity or conformity of the article (A) is obtained when the validity of the codes and the association of the pair of codes are verified. Through this basic functionality, it is possible to assign an article to an entity (E), without the risk of duplication; to control the number of times an article is reused, in accordance with legal and safety standards and to prevent reprocessing of the product, when necessary.

A label issuing system includes a label issuing apparatus and a label printer. The label issuing apparatus includes a printer interface and a processor. The processor is configured to generate print data for an image including a first region with first information and a second region with a first code symbol and a second code symbol each representing the first information but being of different sizes. The processor controls the printer interface to transmit the print data to the label printer. The label printer is connectable to the printer interface and configured to print the image on a label based on the print data received through the printer interface symbol.

Exemplary embodiments use a single, physical embodiment that compiles independent machine-readable codes together with little to no space in between codes. This physical embodiment is in two primary forms—adhesive tape or fabric strips with hook and loop backing. There is provided an information processing device to realize more efficient reading of a target code. The information processing device includes an acquisition unit that acquires a target code from a captured image to acquire information from the target code. The acquisition unit acquires a target code from a captured image of a tile code in which a plurality of identical target codes are arranged at predetermined intervals.

A method for authenticating an object, particularly a security element for protecting value documents, ID documents and products, as well as a security element, a security document, a reader, an individualization device and a server for such a method. The method involves the steps: dividing a first code element into at least one first partial code element and one second partial code element, storing the second partial code element, arranging the first partial code element and/or a second code element on and/or in the object, jointly machine-capturing the first partial code element and the second code element by means of a reader, extracting the first partial code element and the second code element from the data captured by the reader, accessing the stored second partial code element using the second code element as a key, checking whether the code element resulting from merging the extracted first partial code element and the stored second partial code element corresponds to the first code element.
