Method of manufacturing RFID tags
An absorbent article has one or more fluid filter layers to inhibit electrode traces from being exposed to low volumes of fluid to reduce the number of false positives that are indicated by an RFID tag of the incontinence detection pad. An antenna inlay has a sacrificial trace portion to permit testing for proper operation of an RFID chip electrically coupled to the antenna inlay. After testing, the sacrificial trace portion is severed. A fluid barrier layer blocks fluid from reaching portions of electrode traces that are located on a backsheet outside a periphery of an absorbent core of an incontinence detection pad. The power at which an antenna transmits to wirelessly energize a passive RFID tag of an incontinence detection pad is controlled to reduce the number of false positives indicated by the RFID tag.

The current monitor is configured for determining maximal current Imax that can be provided by the power supply to the processing system from the electromagnetic field, and is configured for comparing, during an execution phase of said hardware processor, said determined maximal current Imax and a current drawn by the processing system.
RFID device with two-stage power harvesting
Disclosed is a method of gathering data from a hybrid RFID chip to determine usage of an item or article of clothing using a mobile device like a phone, laptop, or tablet. The hybrid RFID chip consists of a processor, a memory, a radio transceiver, a power harvesting antenna, and an impedance circuit that converts ambient radio frequency (RF) energy to electrical energy. The RFID chip receives a first power level from ambient RF energy and periodically broadcasts an identity. The mobile device can receive the broadcast identity, store the identity, transmit the identity and location to a remote server, and receive a notification message from the remote server. The remote serve can determine usage of the item or article of clothing by comparing current records to previous records of RFID chip identity, location, and mobile device application identity.
TELEPOWERED CONTACTLESS CARD
The present disclosure concerns an electronic device connected to an antenna. The electronic device delivers a first amplitude-modulated analog signal of a signal captured by the antenna, the capture signal associated with an electromagnetic field exhibiting intervals at a minimum level. The electronic device includes a first circuit, a second circuit, and a third circuit. The first circuit delivers a second analog signal by rectification and filters the first analog signal. The second circuit delivers a first binary signal based on the demodulation of the second analog signal. The third circuit couples the antenna to a resistor during each pause. The resistance value of the resistor depends on the maximum amplitude of the electromagnetic field before the pause.
