Device with built-in bill capture, analysis, and execution
Systems and methods for secure and efficient bill capture, analysis, and execution are provided. A method may include capturing, via a camera embedded in a smart card, an image of a bill. The bill may include a plurality of text fields. The method may include processing the text fields via a microprocessor embedded in the smart card. The method may include determining, based at least in part on the processing of the text fields, a balance amount and a payment recipient associated with the bill. The method may also include executing a payment for the balance amount from an account associated with a user of the smart card to an account associated with the payment recipient. The executing may be performed via a wireless communication element embedded in the smart card which may be configured to provide wireless communication between the smart card and a payment gateway.
RFID SWITCH TAG
Various embodiments of RFID switch devices are disclosed herein. Such RFID switch devices advantageously enable manual activation/deactivation of the RF module. The RFID switch device may include a RF module with an integrated circuit adapted to ohmically connect to a substantially coplanar conductive trace pattern, as well as booster antenna for extending the operational range of the RFID device. The operational range of the RFID switch device may be extended when a region of the booster antenna overlaps a region of the conductive trace pattern on the RF module via inductive or capacitive coupling. In some embodiments, all or a portion of the booster antenna may at least partially shield the RF module when the RFID switch device is in an inactive state.
COMMUNICATION DEVICE TO SENSE ONE OR MORE BIOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF A USER
A communication device for sensing one or more biometric characteristics of a user. The device includes a cover structure, a layer of output pixel elements, a layer of biometric input pixel elements, and a processor. The cover structure includes an exterior surface. The layer of output pixel elements is positioned below the exterior surface and configured to provide an output through the exterior surface toward the user. The output pixel elements being at least one of light emitting pixel elements and piezoelectric-out pixel elements. The layer of biometric input pixel elements is positioned below the exterior surface to receive a reflected biometric input passing from the user through the exterior surface. The biometric input pixel elements being at least one of light detecting and piezoelectric-in pixel elements. The processor is connected to the biometric input pixel elements to process the reflected biometric input.

Smart card with distributed payment channels and autonomous resolution thereof
Systems and methods for autonomous payment routing are provided. A method may include storing in a smart card a database of contacts accessed from a digital contact directory. The method may include receiving a request to reroute a payment via an alternate payment channel, the payment including a recipient and an amount, and the alternate payment channel originating from an account associated with one of the contacts in the database. The method may also include resolving, via a wireless communication element that is embedded in the smart card, routing information for the account. The method may also include transmitting, to an administrator of the account, a request for authorization to reroute the payment, and, when authorization is received, executing the payment via the alternate payment channel.
A PRE-PACKAGE FOR A SMARTCARD, A SMARTCARD AND A METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME
When forming smartcards or pre-forms thereof additional functionality may be implemented by, for instance, incorporating components, such as a display device, and the like, by preparing pre-packages separately from the rest of the pre-forms and subsequently inserting the pre-packages into the pre-forms, thereby achieving superior process robustness and production yield.
SMART CARD READ/WRITE METHOD AND APPARATUS
A smart card read/write method is performed at a terminal, including: sensing a touch event of a smart card, and obtaining an application identifier corresponding to the touch event; searching for a third-party application link corresponding to the application identifier, and capturing and displaying a web page corresponding to the third-party application link, the web page comprising a function menu and an instruction script corresponding to options in the function menu being preselected from a preset standard script library; obtaining an option triggered in the function menu on the web page, and sending a smart card control request to a platform application server by executing an instruction script corresponding to the triggered option; and receiving a smart card control instruction returned by the platform application server, and invoking a corresponding interface function according to the smart card control instruction to read/write the smart card.
Advanced loyalty applications for powered cards and devices
Advanced loyalty applications are provided to improve the functionality of cards and devices. For example, a user interface may be placed on a card (e.g., a physical button) or a telephonic device (e.g., a virtual button on a capacitive touch screen). Manual input provided to this user interface may, for example, cause a non-merchant product (e.g., insurance) to be purchased with a merchant purchase. The product can be paid for with debit, credit, gift card balance, or points. A code indicative of a user's desire to purchase the product may be communicated to a payment card reader (e.g., to a magnetic stripe reader via a magnetic stripe communications device). A display may be provided next to a button to allow a user to scroll, or toggle by pressing the button repeatedly, through different products (which may be merchant or non-merchant products).
Intelligent Adaptive Label Device and Method
Briefly, an intelligent label is associated with a good, and includes one or more permanent and irreversible electrochromic indicators that are used to report the condition of that good at selected points in the movement or usage of that good. These electrochromic indicators provide immediate visual information regarding the status of the good without need to interrogate or communicate with the electronics or processor on the intelligent label. In this way, anyone in the shipping or use chain for the good, including the end user consumer, can quickly understand whether the product is meeting shipping and quality standards. If a product fails to meet shipping or quality standards, the particular point where the product failed can be quickly and easily identified, and information can be used to assure the consumer remains safe, while providing essential information for improving the shipping process. It will be understood that the label may take many forms, such as a tag attached to the good, integrated into the packaging for the good, integrated into the good itself, or may even be an information area on a prepaid card for example. The label may also include, for example, print information regarding the good, usage or shipping rules, or address and coded information.
Sensor device, method of forming a sensor device, chip card and method of forming a chip card
A sensor device is provided that includes a fingerprint sensor and an antenna coupled with the fingerprint sensor for inductive coupling of the fingerprint sensor with a booster antenna.
