SYSTEM FOR AND METHOD OF DETERRING THEFT OF ITEMS FROM A VENUE
Theft of an item from a department of a venue having a department-specific, point-of-sale (POS) station for completing a transaction of the item prior to authorized removal of the item from the department, is deterred by sensing and tracking movement of a target associated with the item from the department by deploying a plurality of sensing units overhead at the venue, and by generating an alert when the sensing units sense and track that the target associated with the item has bypassed the department-specific POS station without the transaction having been completed for the item at the department-specific POS station. Security personnel execute a theft-deterrent action in response to the alert.
Intelligent Cabinet
An intelligent cabinet for dispensing products contained therein that includes an outer wall, an inner liner defining an enclosed interior space adapted for housing an inventory of items, an intermediate layer provided between the outer wall and inner liner, and having a plurality of slots, and a system of modular cassettes including a plurality of cassettes where each cassette is adapted to be fittingly received in and removable from a corresponding slot from the plurality of slots, and a plurality of RFID antennas, where each RFID antennas is separately housed in one of the cassettes from among the plurality of cassettes
ZONE ANTENNA SYSTEM
A zone antenna system includes a zone antenna mat including a substantially planar zone antenna and a zone beacon unit configured to establish a detection zone and detect presence of an electronic tag in the detection zone. The zone antenna system may form part of a compliance monitoring system in which presence of the electronic tag the detection zone is part of a monitored process. The zone antenna system establishes a detection zone, detects entry of one or more electronic tags into the detection zone, and stores and/or wirelessly transmits entry event data corresponding to one or more detected entry events for receipt by a remote or local computing device.
TRANSFER STATION, INTERROGATION STATION, AND RELATED METHODS TO FACILITATE TRANSFER OF BIOLOGICAL SPECIMENS STORED AT CRYOGENIC CONDITIONS
A system and method facilitates transfers of specimen containers between a cryogenic freezer and a portable, bulk carrier. An interrogation station has a frame and a well that includes a bottom and at least one sidewall that extends upwardly from the bottom towards a top, wherein the bottom, the at least one sidewall, and the top collectively delineate an interior cavity of the well. The frame includes at least one opening that extends through the top so as to provide entry and access to the interior cavity of the well to receive buckets therein. The interrogation station further includes at least one array of antennas arranged within a plane and positioned beneath the bottom at a location in which the at least one array of antennas is aligned with the at least one opening along a vertical direction, which is perpendicular to the plane.
Booster antenna and portable terminal stand
A booster antenna for enabling ID information, code information, or the like to be reliably and easily read from an IC card or the like with a portable terminal without bringing the IC card or the like directly close to the portable terminal. The booster antenna includes: an inner coil wound twice into a circular shape; an outer coil surrounding the outer side of the inner coil and wound twice into a rectangular shape; and a terminal-side coil wound four times into a circular shape. One end of the inner and outer coils are electrically connected to each other. The diameter of the inner coil is 93% or more of the short sides of the outer coil. The booster antenna includes a connection cord connecting the other end of the inner coil and one end of the terminal-side coil and electrically connecting the other end of the outer coil and the other end of the terminal-side coil.
Systems and methods for long-distance mobile wireless power
Wireless power may be transferred between systems that are magnetically coupled in reactive near-field proximity. A magnetic field between a first antenna and a second antenna are coupled. The first and second antenna are (i) resonant at an operating frequency, and (ii) located within reactive near-field proximity. The reactive near field proximity represents a region that is less than a distance of 0.159 of the free space wavelength for the operating frequency. The wireless power provides a receiving system with a threshold amount of wireless inductive power exceeding 1 watt. Each of the first and second antennas have a spherical volume with a diameter less than 1/20 of the free space wavelength of the operating frequency and the energy dissipated to far-field radiation, per cycle, due to circulating currents from the first antenna is less than ½ the peak energy stored in the magnetic field.
