Methods and systems for determining the authenticity of an identity document
A method for determining the authenticity of an identity document is provided that includes capturing, by an electronic device, image data of an identity document. The identity document has a first side and a second side. The image data includes an image of the first side and an image of the second side. The first side includes data about a person associated with the identity document and second side includes a PDF417 barcode which has features. The method also includes determining a class of the identity document. The features of the PDF417 barcode adhere to criteria established for the determined class of the identity document. Moreover, the method includes analyzing the features of the PDF417 barcode for anomalies. In response to determining the features of the PDF417 barcode are free of anomalies, the identity document is determined to be authentic. Otherwise, the identity document is determined to be fraudulent.
PICTURE PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS, ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A picture processing method includes: identifying a target area where a QR code is located in a picture; obtaining parameters of the picture; and performing effacing process on the target area of the picture based on the parameters.
Bearing component, bearing, machine, vehicle, individual identification method for bearing component, manufacturing method for bearing, manufacturing method for machine, and manufacturing method for vehicle
A bearing component is an annular member with a two-dimensional code which has a shape with a maximum circumferential dimension longer than a maximum radial dimension or a maximum axial dimension. An individual identification method for the bearing component includes the steps of imaging while rotating the bearing component, detecting a line pattern of the two-dimensional code from a captured image, recognizing the two-dimensional code based on an extension direction of the line pattern, extracting corresponding registration information by referring to a database based on information of the two-dimensional code, and identifying the bearing component according to the extracted registration information.
DISPLAY SYSTEM AND DISPLAY METHOD
A display system includes a plurality of tags and a detection device. Each tag of the plurality of tags stores an identification code for identifying that tag, generates electric power upon receiving light that contains identification information to be compared with the identification code, and emits light using the electric power of that tag when the identification information contained in the received light matches the identification code. The detection device generates image data in accordance with an input of the identification information on a selected article, projects scanning light containing identification information on the position of the tag extracted from the generated image data, and, when emitted light from any of the plurality of tags is detected from the image data acquired during a period in which the scanning light is projected, projects marking light within a range attached with the tag that has emitted light.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO LOCATE BARCODES IN COLOR IMAGES
Methods and apparatus to locate barcodes in color images are disclosed. An example method includes: obtaining a color digital image using an image sensor, the image including a plurality of pixels represented by respective ones of a plurality of luminance components and respective ones of a plurality of color components; determining, based on the luminance components, a plurality of barcode indicative characteristics for respective ones of a plurality of regions of the image; determining, based on the plurality of color components, a plurality of color content amounts for respective ones of the plurality of regions; identifying one or more regions of the plurality of regions that have their respective color content amount satisfy a first criteria, and their respective barcode indicative characteristic satisfy a second criteria; and processing image data corresponding to each of the one or more regions to attempt to identify one or more barcodes in the image.
Code reader and method of reading an optical code
A method of reading an optical code is provided in which a brightness profile of the code is recorded, light and dark part regions are identified in the brightness profile, and the code content of the optical code is read, First sum measurements for the light quantity in the respective light part regions and second sum measurements for the light quantity lacking for a white level in the respective dark part regions are determined from the brightness profile and the code content is read based on the first and second sum measurements.
SIGN, VEHICLE NUMBER PLATE, SCREEN, AND AR MARKER INCLUDING BOUNDARY CODE ON EDGE THEREOF, AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING ADDITIONAL OBJECT INFORMATION BY USING BOUNDARY CODE
A system of the present invention for providing additional object information by using a boundary code on an edge comprises: a sign having an edge to which a boundary code is provided; and a smart device which converts the boundary code into additional object information and visually, acoustically, and sensately provides the additional object information. The present invention facilitates pattern recognition even at a long distance and there is almost no probability of the pattern recognition failing.
Graphically Encoded Icons Having Intrinsic Attributes Embedded Therein and Systems and Methods for Using Same
A user instrument for engaging in a transaction includes a graphically encoded icon having a static portion, and an intrinsic portion comprising an area of stimuli-responsive material defining a first machine-readable indicia. At least a portion of the stimuli-responsive material transforms from a first state to a second state in response to a trigger. The transformation from the first state to the second state of the portion of the stimuli-response material results in a second machine-readable indicia. The transformation of the stimuli-responsive material from the first state to the second state is semi-irreversible. The second machine-readable indicia comprises information to permit or deny the user to engage in a second transaction via the user instrument.
Method for Teaching Positioning of a Bar Code Scanner & Apparatus for Processing a Sample or Reagent
A method for teaching positioning of a bar code scanner is disclosed. The method includes moving the bar code scanner relative to a first bar code so as to sweep a light beam emitted from the bar code scanner across the first bar code, detecting an orientation of the bar code scanner relative to the first bar code and positioning the bar code scanner based on the orientation. Further, an apparatus for processing a sample or reagent is disclosed.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROCESSING AN IMAGE
A system performs a method for processing an image of a machine-readable code. The method includes receiving an image of a machine-readable code comprising coded information, where the machine-readable code is at least partially obscured by a substance that has a predominant color; generating an adjusted image by adjusting a color space of the image based on the predominant color; binarizing at least a machine-readable code region of the image, wherein the machine-readable code region of the image depicts the machine-readable code; and decoding the binarized machine-readable code region to determine the coded information. Other apparatus and methods are also described.
