Dynamic region based application operations
11704532 · 2023-07-18 · ·

Techniques are disclosed for a hybrid undo/redo for text editing, where non-linear undo and redo operations are performed across dynamic regions in a document and linear undo and redo operations are performed within the dynamic regions in the document. In an example, the hybrid undo/redo may be achieved by maintaining respective region offset values for the dynamic regions created in a document by the edits made to the document. In operation, the respective region offset values associated with the dynamic regions can be used to negate or otherwise counteract the effect of edits made in the dynamic regions.

Device and method for adjusting a signal for an object detector

An object counting device adjusts a signal to account for noise to improve object counting accuracy. A controller receives an electromagnetic radiation (e.g., light) intensity signal from radiation detectors and determines that its value is within a voltage threshold, thereby indicating that no object is passing through the radiation. The controller determines a derivative of the signal and that the derivative is less than a derivative threshold level for at least a predefined time. The controller then updates a base noise floor value to be the value of the radiation intensity signal to account for particles within a path of the electromagnetic radiation to improve an object counting accuracy. In some embodiments, the processor can scale the received radiation intensity signal in accordance with the updated base noise floor value.

The invention comprises a system and an optical device (1) to facilitate the counting of objects, e.g. fish and other organisms living in freshwater or sea, especially when using large-scale equipment in fish-fanning. The system makes it possible to diminish the distance between the recording camera and the objects to be counted.

Method and device for counting objects

In the field of the counting of objects, a use is provided of a photosensitive assembly comprising at least one photodiode or one photoresistor, and a source of uniform illumination for illuminating the assembly, the establishment of a reference current supplied by the photosensitive assembly for an illuminated region of this assembly corresponding to a given fraction of the surface of the assembly, the disposition of objects to be counted against the photosensitive assembly, the illumination of the assembly by the source, the objects masking a part of the surface of the assembly, measurement of the current supplied by the assembly, and determination of a ratio between measured current and reference current to deduce the proportion between the surface area of photosensitive element illuminated and the surface area masked by the objects disposed. From this ratio, information on the number of objects disposed on the photosensitive assembly is extracted.

Passenger counting arrangement

An arrangement of counting passengers in an elevator using two separate counting mechanisms is disclosed. The elevator car typically has a curtain of light arranged to the door and a load weighing device arranged to measure the weight of the elevator car. From the information recorded by the curtain of light and the load weighing device, it is possible to count the number of passengers. The reliability of the counting results can be improved by processing the counting results for forming a combined counting result that provides a more reliable counting result when the independent counts deviate from each other.
