Increasing scan rate of parcels within material handling facility

Systems and methods disclosed herein increase a scan rates of parcels within a material handling facility. In some instances, the systems and methods described herein focus an imaging device on a label attached to a parcel to capture image data of the label that is in focus. This permits the image data to be analyzed for discerning shipping identifiers that are used for sortation and/or processing the parcels. For example, a height of the parcel may be determined and a field of view (FOV) associated with capturing the image data may be correspondingly adjusted. Furthermore, other setting(s) associated with imaging the parcels may be adjusted. For example, lighting conditions may be adjusted to reduce glare, contrast, and/or brightness captured within the image(s), and/or other setting(s) of the imaging device may be updated, such as gain and exposure.

An OCR system acquires the position of an image code in a document image, acquires data indicated by the image code, and acquires the position of a handwriting input field in the document image on the basis of the position of the image code in the acquired document image, the position of the image code in the document included in the acquired data, and the position of the handwriting input field in the document included in the acquired data.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING ITEM SCAN RATES IN DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
20220101259 · 2022-03-31 ·

The present disclosure relates to a system and method for improving scan rates of an item in a distribution network. The system may include an item scan database storing item scan datasets containing barcodes, item datasets and optical character recognition (OCR) labels datasets and a processor in data communication with the item scan database. The processor may detect an item barcode with an item orientation so as to output correct orientation information of the item. The processor may also extract available barcode information from the detected item barcode based on the correct orientation information of the item. The processor may further reconstruct a correct barcode from the extracted available barcode information and one or more of the item scan datasets.

ELECTRONIC DOCUMENT VALIDATION

In some implementations, a device may obtain an electronic document. The device may extract a portion of the electronic document. The device may obtain first text data associated with the portion. The device may determine whether the first text data corresponds to any of a plurality of text indicators of document types. The device may obtain, based on a determination that the first text data does not correspond to any of the plurality of text indicators, second text data associated with a greater portion of the electronic document that includes more than the first text data. The device may determine, using a machine learning model, a type of the electronic document based on the second text data. The device may determine whether the type of the electronic document differs from an expected document. The device may transmit a notification indicating that the electronic document is not the expected document.

AUTOMATIC ORIENTATION CORRECTION FOR CAPTURED IMAGES

In some implementations, a device may receive an image of a document, the image depicting a reference feature associated with the document, the reference feature including at least one of: a face of a person, a machine-readable code, or a text field. The device may identify a rotational angle of the reference feature as depicted in the image based on comparing the reference feature as depicted in the image to one or more orientation parameters of the reference feature associated with a display orientation associated with the document. The device may rotate the image of the document by an angle to obtain an orientated image of the document, the angle being based on the rotational angle of the reference feature as depicted in the image. The device may provide the orientated image of the document for display.

AUTOMATICALLY SELECTING FROM MULTIPLE BARCODES IN A CAMERA SYSTEM FIELD OF VIEW

A computing device includes at least one camera system and the scene from the at least one camera system is analyzed to identify one or more barcodes in the scene. In situations where multiple barcodes are identified in the scene, one or more of the multiple barcodes is selected based on a current context of the computing device. The current context can be, for example, an operating system running on the computing device, a configuration of the computing device, an operation context of the computing device, and so forth. One or more actions are taken based on the selected one or more barcodes, such as displaying a preview image with the selected one or more barcodes and one or more URLs encoded in the selected one or more barcodes.

Computer systems for updating a record to reflect data contained in image of document automatically captured on a user's remote mobile phone using a downloaded app with alignment guide

An alignment guide may be provided in the field of view of a camera associated with a mobile device used to capture an image of a check. When the image of the check is within the alignment guide in the field of view, an image may be taken by the camera and provided from the mobile device to a financial institution. The alignment guide may be adjustable at the mobile device. The image capture may be performed automatically by the camera or the mobile device as soon as the image of the check is determined to be within the alignment guide. The check may be deposited in a user's bank account based on the image. Any technique for sending the image to the financial institution may be used.
