Systems and methods for using a mobile device to submit an application for an insurance policy using images of documents captured by the mobile device are provided herein. The information is then used by an insurance company to generate a quote which is then displayed to the user on the mobile device. A user captures images of one or more documents containing information needed to complete an insurance application, after which the information on the documents is extracted and sent to the insurance company where a quote for the insurance policy can be developed. The quote can then be transmitted back to the user. Applications on the mobile device are configured to capture images of the documents needed for an insurance application, such as a driver's license, insurance information card or a vehicle identification number (VIN). The images are then processed to extract the information needed for the insurance application.

Systems and methods for automatic image capture on a mobile device

Real-time evaluation and enhancement of image quality prior to capturing an image of a document on a mobile device is provided. An image capture process is initiated on a mobile device during which a user of the mobile device prepares to capture the image of the document, utilizing hardware and software on the mobile device to measure and achieve optimal parameters for image capture. Feedback may be provided to a user of the mobile device to instruct the user on how to manually optimize certain parameters relating to image quality, such as the angle, motion and distance of the mobile device from the document. When the optimal parameters for image capture of the document are achieved, at least one image of the document is automatically captured by the mobile device.

License Plate Reading System with Enhancements

System and methods are disclosed for capturing license plate (LP) information of a vehicle in relative motion to a camera device. In one example, the camera system detects the LP in multiple frames, then aligns and geometrically rectifies the image of the LP by scaling, warping, rotating, and/or performing other functions on the images. The camera system may optimize capturing of the LP information by executing a temporal noise filter on the aligned, geometrically rectified images to generate a composite image of the LP for optical character recognition. In some examples, the camera device may include an image sensor, such as a high dynamic range (HDR) sensor, modified to set long and short exposures of the HDR sensor to capture frames of a vehicle's LP, but without consolidating the images into a composite image. The camera system may set optimal exposure settings based on detected relative speed of the vehicle.

Systems and methods for mobile automated clearing house enrollment

Systems and methods for mobile enrollment in automated clearing house (ACH) transactions using mobile-captured images of financial documents are provided. Applications running on a mobile device provide for the capture and processing of images of documents needed for enrollment in an ACH transaction, such as a blank check, remittance statement and driver's license. Data from the mobile-captured images that is needed for enrolling in ACH transactions is extracted from the processed images, such as a user's name, address, bank account number and bank routing number. The user can edit the extracted data, select the type of document that is being captured, authorize the creation of an ACH transaction and select an originator of the ACH transaction. The extracted data and originator information is transmitted to a remote server along with the user's authorization so the ACH transaction can be setup between the originator's and receiver's bank accounts.

A computer-implemented method for automatically generating a digitized menu, the computer-implemented method comprising: receiving an image associated with a non-digitized menu; performing an optical character recognition (OCR) operation on the received image, to identify characters and strings of characters comprising one or more words, to generate a text-readable document; determining whether the received image is skewed to generate a determination; for the determination providing an indication that the received image is skewed, performing skew detection and skew correction; clustering the identified characters and strings of characters to generate a clustered text-readable document; classifying the clusters, and associating the classified clusters to generate a classified, associated text-readable document; and for one or more items on the classified, associated text-readable document, obtaining an associated image; and providing the digitized menu comprising the associated image and the classified, associated text-readable document.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING DIGITAL NOTES

Methods for managing notes, either digital notes or images of physical notes. The methods use optical character recognition to convert handwritten content into characters and icons. The methods also determine sizes of non-square physical notes when imaged by a camera from various angles. For curled notes or damaged notes such as a note missing a corner, the methods detect and process edges of a physical note in an image and, using the detected edges, convert the image of the physical note into a corresponding digital note without curl or damage.
