DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MONITORING ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE SECURITY FEATURES, AND MONITORING DEVICE FOR ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE SECURITY FEATURES
A method for verifying an object preferably a document, a (bank) card and/or a product package is provided with an electrically conductive security feature on a device with a capacitive surface sensor. After the object with the security feature is placed on the surface sensor, in particular a dynamic input is performed on the object and the electrically conductive security feature using an input means for generating a characteristic time-dependent signal on the surface sensor. The detected time-dependent signal is subsequently evaluated. Furthermore, an object with a security feature or method for its production, system or kit for carrying out the method and for verifying a document is provided with a conductive electrical security feature on a capacitive surface sensor.

Systems and methods for processing a distorted image
In one exemplary embodiment in accordance with the disclosure, an image processing system is configured to use a distance authentication template to execute a detection procedure that detects at least one non-linear distortion in a subject image. The distance authentication template can be generated by mapping a set of spatial coordinates of three features in a distortion-free image to a set of pixel coordinates of the three features in the distortion-free image. Addressing a non-linear distortion in the subject image can include performing remedial actions to remedy the non-linear distortion, or taking into consideration the non-linear distortion when using the distance authentication template to identify one or more features in the subject image.

MEDIUM PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE MEDIUM PROCESSING APPARATUS
A medium processing apparatus includes a sensor that is intermittently energized and detects a predetermined physical quantity and outputs the detection value in the energization period, the sensor stabilizing its output after an output stabilization period, which is shorter than the energization period, has lapsed, a storage unit that stores the detection value that has been detected by the sensor before the lapse of the energization period and after the lapse of the output stabilization period, and a controller that reads the detection value from the storage unit and performs a predetermined process by using the detection value read.

Apparatus and method for discriminating bills using RF signals
A bill discrimination apparatus and method using a radio frequency (RF) signal that includes a transmission antenna radiating the radio frequency (RF) signal; a reception antenna receiving the RF signal from the transmission antenna; and a control unit providing the RF signal to the transmission antenna, and detecting a thickness of a bill, a state of the bill, or a presence of a foreign object on the bill based on a voltage of the RF signal transmitted through the bill and received by the reception antenna when the bill is between the transmission antenna and the reception antenna. The RF signal has a preset, specific frequency.
