Circuitry acquires, when predetermined money handling is executed, stored money information including specific information of money stored in a storage before execution of the money handling and money transfer information including specific information of money transferred in execution of the money handling, determines, based on the stored money information and the money transfer information, a presence or absence of an occurrence of an abnormality related to money in the money handling apparatus and generates, in a case that it is determined that there is the presence of the occurrence of the abnormality, fraud data related to the occurrence of the abnormality.

Modification of transaction fees

A method implemented on an electronic computing device includes receiving a request for an automated teller machine (ATM) transaction from an ATM. Authentication credentials are received of a customer of the ATM. The authentication credentials are associated with the request for the ATM transaction. A notification is received of a failure to execute the ATM transaction at the ATM. In response to the receiving a notification of the failure, a fee modification is issued to the customer of the ATM. The fee modification permits modification of a transaction fee associated with a subsequent ATM transaction at an alternative ATM.

Computer-based systems configured to detect fraudulent activities related to card-transacting devices and methods of use thereof

Systems and methods of detecting fraudulent activity including skimmers adapted to compromise transacting devices such as automated teller machines (ATMs) are disclosed. In one embodiment, an exemplary computer-implemented method may comprise determining that a subject device has a risk level higher than a risk threshold, providing a push notification to a mobile device proximal to the subject device, executing a software application executed by the mobile device for gathering information and transmitting feedback regarding the subject device, and providing an incentive, upon receipt of the feedback, to, for example, an account or device associated with an individual involved with the feedback or interaction with the device.

Maintaining secure access to a self-service terminal (SST)
11715079 · 2023-08-01 · ·

A memory device is interfaced to a SST; an identifier and, optionally, an invalid identifier list are received from the device. The invalid identifier list is updated to the SST when the invalid identifier list is a more recent version of a SST invalid identifier list. The identifier is invalidated when the identifier is matched in the invalid identifier list or when an expiration date associated with the identifier has expired. When the identifier is invalid, access to administrative features of the SST is denied; and when the identifier is valid access to the administrative features is granted.

SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR MANAGING GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACES FOR ONE OR MORE AUTOMATED TELLER MACHINES
20230027573 · 2023-01-26 ·

Disclosed embodiments may include a system that may receive an indication that a user is accessing an ATM, receive, from the ATM, average session duration data over a predetermined period, generate, using a machine learning model, a busyness score for the ATM based on the average session duration data over the predetermined period, and determine whether the busyness score for the ATM exceeds a busyness score threshold. When the busyness score for the ATM does not exceed the busyness score threshold, the system may cause the ATM to present, via a first graphical user interface, a default ATM experience. When the busyness score for the ATM exceeds the busyness score threshold, the system may cause the ATM to present via, a second graphical user interface, a busy ATM experience.

SMART GLASSES BASED DETECTION OF ATM FRAUD

Systems, methods, and apparatus are provided for fraud screening via smart glasses interactions during an ATM session. A smart glasses device may capture an image of an ATM environment. The ATM and the smart glasses device may be edge nodes on an edge network. An edge platform may use a fraud detection model to classify the image and compare it to stored ATM images. The model may be trained at an enterprise server and stored on the edge platform. In response to a determination of fraud at the edge platform, a fraud alert may be transmitted to the smart glasses device during the ATM session. Edge computing reduces latency to enable real-time smart glasses alerts. The smart glasses device may communicate the fraud alert to other smart glasses devices on the edge network.

Point of sale device power management and undervoltage protection
11561593 · 2023-01-24 · ·

A point-of-sale (POS) device includes a processor, a battery, a transaction object reader, a printer with a printer controller, and optionally a temperature sensor. The processor determines a present power discharge capability rate of the battery, optionally based on a temperature measured by the temperature sensor. The processor also calculates a first estimated power draw rate based on a first setting value for at least one of the components of the POS device, such as the printer. If the first estimated power draw rate is dangerously close to the present power discharge capability rate of the battery, a second estimated power draw rate is calculated based on a second setting value for the one or more components. If the second estimated power draw rate is no longer dangerously close to the present power discharge capability rate of the battery, the components are set to the second settings value.

Queue Management for Pre-staged Transactions at Ultra-Wide Enabled ATMs

A queue management ultra-wideband (UWB) automated teller machine (ATM) transaction pre-staging systems and methods for use with an ATM server, at least one UWB-enabled wireless portable electronic device, and a plurality of UWB-enabled ATMs are disclosed. Transactions are pre-staged by the UWB-enabled devices with the ATM servers. Queue wait times at each UWB-enabled ATM can be determined based on how many transactions have been scheduled for the ATM, how many customers are currently waiting at the ATM, and what currency resources are required by the pre-staged transactions. Geographical distances between the user and the ATMs can be determined. Based on historical customer ATM usage preferences, the distance to various ATMs, and queue wait times, the ATM server may make recommendations regarding which ATM would be optimal for the customer to use to complete the pre-staged transaction.

Image forming apparatus

In accordance with an embodiment, an image forming apparatus comprises an image forming section configured to form an image on a sheet; a sheet discharge port through which the sheet is discharged; a sheet conveyance roller configured to convey the sheet to the sheet discharge port; a movable sheet guide, arranged in such a manner that an imaginary line connecting a portion contacting the sheet of the sheet conveyance roller with the sheet discharge port passes through a cross-sectional area, configured to be capable of moving in a direction away from a surface of the sheet; and a guide sensor configured to detect movement of the movable sheet guide.

ATM intercommunication system and method for fraudulent and forced transactions

Various methods, apparatuses/systems, and media for implementing a multi-tier intercommunication module (MTIM) for an automatic teller machine (ATM) to prevent fraudulent and forced transactions are provided. A processor within the MTIM verifies whether an anomaly withdrawal transaction is occurring based on analysis of a user's normal banking behavior. When anomaly transactions are detected, the processor transmits a notification to the user's registered Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) device to verify whether the transaction is fraudulent. Additionally, the MTIM provides a continuous feedback loop of user location data when forced transactions have been triggered. Forced card transactions are allowed completion and the MTIM sends a custom security code (CSC) to the user's registered MFA mobile device. An application module, running on this MFA device, upon receiving this CSC will automatically send continuous push notifications on pre-determined time deltas containing location data of the user to a security module operated by a local authority.
