System and method for deterring theft
A theft deterring system includes a power tool with a motor connectable to a power source, a switch connected to the motor, a controller controlling to the switch for controlling an amount of power provided to the motor, and a state circuit having a memory for storing a state value. The controller activates the switch to provide power to the motor when the state value stored in the memory equals a desired value. The system may also include a tag programmer for changing the stored value.
SECURITY TAG
A security tag including a flexible member that can be formed into a loop to attach the security tag to an article. A security tag comprises: a main body comprising a casing that comprises a first aperture proximate a first end wall and a second aperture proximate a second end wall; an elongate flexible member, a first end of the flexible member extending through the first aperture; a releasable locking mechanism in the main body and associated with the second aperture, the locking mechanism configured to retain a second end of the flexible member; and two electronic article surveillance sensors within the casing, the sensors on opposite sides of a plane disposed halfway between the first and second apertures. When the second end of the flexible member is retained in the casing by the locking mechanism, a centre of gravity of the main body lies in the plane.
ANTI-THEFT AND TRACKING TAG AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A dual security tag including an RFID component and an electronic article surveillance (EAS) component, respectively disposed on opposite sides of a PET carrier substrate, is provided. The RFID component may include one or more ultra-high frequency antennae, such as a near field loop antenna and a far field dipole antenna, and an integrated circuit (IC) chip. The EAS component may be provided as an RF device, an acoustic-magnetic (AM) device, a low power Bluetooth (BLE) device, or other suitable device. The security tag may also include a facesheet affixed to the RFID component, a release liner layer affixed to the EAS device, and one or more intermediary films or protective layers. A method for manufacturing a dual security tag is also described.
This invention relates to a security tag for use in a retail environment. In particular this invention relates to a security tag including a flexible member or lanyard that can be formed into a loop to attach the security tag to an article. A security tag comprises a main body comprising a casing having opposite first and second end walls; an elongate flexible member for securing around an object, a first end of the flexible member being connected to the main body; a releasable locking mechanism in the main body, the locking mechanism configured to retain a second end of the flexible member within the casing such that a part of the flexible member external to the casing forms a loop, the locking mechanism being releasable by application of a magnetic force such that the second end of the flexible member can be withdrawn from the casing; and two electronic article surveillance (EAS) sensors housed within the casing, a first one of the sensors being proximate the first end wall of the casing and a second one of the sensors being proximate the second end wall of the casing.
Asset Management Techniques
Systems, devices and methods for monitoring and managing parts, enterprise resources and other assets, and alleviating risks, in a complex collaboration environment are provided. According to some example aspects of the invention, a device with a hardware- and software-based control system scans and/or writes unique asset-related information within a plurality of chemical, electromagnetic, or written data-bearing tags within, on or throughout an asset for use in a manufacturing, maintenance and/or tracking process. In other example aspects, the system records that asset-specific information (e.g., using secure network(s) and/or a blockchain), providing it for later access and modification by a number of trusted users, to track and control manufacturing-, maintenance-relevant or other factors. In still other example aspects, an enterprise resource planning system both outputs information to, and receives information from, the control system, reconciling changes in the data.
Item location tracking device having anti-theft function
An item location tracking device having anti-theft function is provided. An item location tracking device having anti-theft function according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a tracker body comprising a sensing part and a communication module for transmitting information acquired through the sensing part to the outside, the sensing part including a magnetic force detecting sensor for detecting a magnetic field, and at least one state detecting sensor for detecting state information of an item; a container-shaped bracket having an insertion space into which the tracker body is inserted, and fixedly installed to an item so that the tracker body can be fixed to the item; and a permanent magnet disposed in the insertion space so that a magnetic field for detecting whether the tracker body and the bracket are separated from each other can be provided toward the magnetic force detecting sensor.
ELONGATE FLEXIBLE TAG
Systems and methods for providing a tag. The tag comprising a flexible elongate structure comprising a cord or a cable; an electronic thread device integrated into the cord or cable that is operative to wirelessly communicate with external devices for inventory management or security purposes; and/or an Electronic Article Surveillance (“EAS”) component integrated into the cord or cable.

METHOD OF EXTENDING A RFID TAG READING RANGE AND DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT THE SAME
A method of increasing a RFID tag reading range and a device for carrying out the same, said method comprising placing the RFID tag in an electrically polarizable medium, which may be water or another polarizable liquid or a polarizable amorphous plastic or melt. The device comprises a capsule into which the RFID tag is mounted. Then, the capsule is filled with an electrically polarizable medium.
