Managing Sensors and Computing Devices Associated with a Premises
Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for managing sensors and computing devices associated with a premises are presented. An example method comprises receiving, by a computing device and from a mobile device at a premises: an image of a sensor, and a request to add the sensor to an account associated with the premises, performing object recognition on the image, and based on the object recognition, adding the sensor to a list of sensors associated with the account.
Control system user interface
Embodiments include systems and methods comprising a gateway located at a premise forming at least one network on the premise that includes a plurality of premise devices. A sensor user interface (SUI) is coupled to the gateway and presented to a user via a remote device. The SUI includes at least one display element. The at least one display element includes a floor plan display that represents at least one floor of the premise. The floor plan display visually and separately indicates a location and a current state of each premise device of the plurality of premise devices.
AUTOMATIC ADDRESSING FOR FIRE LOOP
An automatic addressing system for a fire loop and a method for automatically addressing a plurality of remote units electrically connected to a fire panel in a fire loop, the method including: (1) requesting an initial identifier from each remote unit; (2) for each remote unit which responds with a unique initial identifier: (a) assigning a unique address to the remote unit; and (b) silencing the response of the configured remote unit to further identifier requests; (3) for each remote unit which responds with an initial identifier matching the initial identifier of at least one other remote unit: (a) initialising an identifier array with the initial identifier for the remote unit in question; (b) requesting a further identifier and adding it to the identifier array for the remote unit; (c) for each remote unit which responds with a unique identifier array: (i) assigning a unique address to the remote unit.
SECURE COMMUNICATIONS FOR MONITORED FACILITIES
Systems and methods relating to secure communications for use with monitored facilities. A segregated private network is provided where the network only allows properly credentialed users to use the network. Only traffic destined for addresses internal to the private network are allowed within the network. Access nodes control access to the private network while other types of traffic for the network, including radio and text messaging traffic may also use the private network for a secure communications link between source and destination nodes. Preferably, the communication links are end to end encrypted. As well, preferably, video and data streams from monitored facilities are transmitted to central monitoring offices using the private network.
Optical mechanical switch for detector addressing
An emergency alarm system peripheral, such as a hazard detector, intrusion detector, or a notification appliance, includes a base that is permanently installed on a wall or ceiling, and a head which mounts to the base. Various embodiments and methods are provided to easily and efficiently assign addresses to the peripherals in the system.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATED REPORTING OF ACCOUNT AND SENSOR ZONE INFORMATION TO A CENTRAL STATION
Systems and methods for reporting account and sensor configuration information to a central system are disclosed. A security, monitoring, and automation (SMA) system may operate one or more sensors according to sensor configuration information. The sensor configuration information may be used by a remote monitoring system to send notification messages based on sensor events from the SMA system. The sensor configuration information may be transmitted to the remote monitoring system via another remote computing system. The computing system may format the sensor configuration information to a format compatible with the remote monitoring system and transmit the formatted sensor configuration information to the remote monitoring system.
Communicating Within A Wireless Security System
Techniques are provided that enable a wireless security system that is designed to detect and receive wireless transmissions in one protocol, to use sensor-transmitters that operate in a different protocol. The techniques involve, generally, the use of an integration device, and in some implementations, first enrolling sensor-transmitters of a first protocol into the integration device, along with device type information for the sensor-transmitters. Thereafter, during system operation, transmissions with message packets in the first message packet protocol are received by the integration device, recognized as having been previously enrolled, and a message packet in a second message packet protocol that includes device type information is then formulated and transmitted by the integration device, for receipt by a system control device for the wireless security system. In some scenarios, an enrollment process need not be done in the integration device, and the integration device is utilized in the communication process.
Systems and Methods for Inventory Management of Retail Products
Systems, apparatuses and methods are provided herein for inventory management of retail products in a retail facility. A system for inventory management comprises: a motion sensor configured to detect motion in proximity to the one or more retail products; a location transmitter for transmitting a location of a store worker; a database; an alerting device for alerting the store worker to shelf inventory levels; and a control circuit configured to determine that a store worker is in proximity to the one or more retail products, determine that a shelf inventory level of the one or more retail products is below a predetermined threshold, and cause the alerting device to alert the store worker in proximity to the one or more retail products that the shelf inventory level of the one or more retail products is below the predetermined threshold.
Bus system and method for operating such a bus system
The invention relates to a bus system (1) comprising a control unit (2) and at least one bus node (3.1, 3.2, 3.3). The control unit (2) is allocated at least two data communication interfaces (2.1, 2.2) which are respectively designed to transmit and receive data. The at least one bus node (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) comprises a bus coupler having at least two data communication interfaces (3.11, 3.12; 3.21, 3.22; 3.31, 3.32) respectively designed to transmit and receive data. The control unit (2) and the at least one bus node (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) are respectively connected together via their data communication interfaces and corresponding two-point connections (8) to form a ring topology. The bus coupler of the at least one bus node is designed to directly and without delay transmit, and thus forward, data received at one of its at least two communication interfaces via its other data communication interface.
Configuration of security devices using spatially-encoded optical machine-readable indicia
A method and system for configuring security devices on a security network. A mobile computing device reads spatially-encoded optical machine-readable indicia, decodes the indicia, and extracts encoded configuration information for the security devices. The configuration information from the indicia is then transmitted to a monitoring station, which uses the configuration information to configure communication with the security devices on the security network.
