Provided is a control apparatus for controlling broadcast data to be broadcasted to an occupant of a movable object with an automated drive function, comprising: a travelling road identification unit for identifying a predetermined travelling road of the movable object corresponding to a destination set in the movable object; a setting unit for setting, according to the predetermined travelling road, a recommended switching point for switching predetermined automated drive to driver subjected manual drive in the predetermined travelling road, and setting predetermined passage time when the movable object passes through the recommended switching point; and a broadcast plan generation unit for generating a broadcast plan for broadcasting predetermined broadcast data to an occupant of the movable object according to the recommended switching point; wherein the broadcast plan generation unit determines an order of the broadcast data to be broadcasted within a predetermined period before or after the recommended switching point.

DERIVING TRAFFIC SIGNAL TIMING PLANS FROM CONNECTED VEHICLE TRAJECTORY DATA

Traffic signal timing plans are derived from vehicle trajectory or probe data. The probe data is collected and archived in a datastore over a sample time on the order of weeks or longer. Probe data is corrected for clock drift, geo-fence filtered to a selected intersection, and then stop line crossings in the intersection are identified and analyzed along with related data to determine the timing plans and schedule for the intersection. In this way, access to government agency timing plans is obviated so as to save time and expense.

A control unit of a vehicle traveling data recorder acquires the position of a vehicle. Further, the control unit acquires a captured image generated by a camera which photographs the periphery of the vehicle. Then, if the acquired position of the vehicle belongs to an area where predetermined privacy processing is to be performed on an object included in the acquired captured image, the control unit stores, in a nonvolatile memory, data that is the captured image to which the privacy processing is applied, and if the acquired position of the vehicle does not belong to the area where the predetermined privacy processing is to be performed on the object included in the acquired captured image, the control unit stores the captured image in the nonvolatile memory.

Methods and systems for identifying navigable elements affected by weather conditions

A method of determining whether one or more navigable elements of a navigable network within a geographic area are still affected by a precipitation weather event. A quantity parameter is associated with each segment of an electronic map representing the navigable network and indicates the amount of precipitation remaining on the navigable element or portion thereof represented by the segment. The value of the quantity parameter increases in the presence of any precipitation weather event, and decreases ac cording to a predefined function with respect to time in the absence of any such precipitation weather event. A speed of travel of one or more devices along the navigable element or portion thereof represented by a segment is determined and compared to an expected speed of travel for the segment; the value of the quantity parameter being decreased based on the comparison. The value of quantity parameter can be used to generate weather events and/or attribute the cause of a congestion event as being the precipitation weather event.

Mitigation of traffic oscillation on roadway

In an example, a method determines a first controllable vehicle traveling along a mitigation road segment of a roadway and determines a control lane in the mitigation road segment. The control lane includes the first controllable vehicle and is impedible by the first controllable vehicle. The method determines a first open lane in the mitigation road segment and applies a target mitigation speed to the first controllable vehicle in the control lane. The first open lane is adjacent to the control lane in the mitigation road segment and the target mitigation speed is based on a traffic state of the first open lane. The target mitigation speed adjusts a traffic stream that flows through the first open lane to mitigate traffic congestion located downstream of the mitigation road segment.

Vehicle operation

A computer includes a processor and a memory, the memory storing instructions executable by the processor to collect biometric data of a vehicle user, identify a set of user-specific data from one or more stored sets of user-specific data based on the biometric data, and receive a request for a stored location. When the biometric data of the vehicle user match the stored biometric data, the instructions include instructions to display the requested location. When the biometric data of the vehicle user do not match the stored biometric data, the instructions include instructions to identify an offset location based on the requested location and a population density of the requested location and display the offset location.

HIGH SPEED DETERMINATION OF INTERSECTION TRAVERSAL WITHOUT ROAD DATA

Techniques for using vehicle telematics data for high speed determination of intersection traversals are provided. Telematics data from a vehicle trip may be obtained and compared to an area associated with an intersection to attempt to isolate telematics data points that are within the intersection. A simplified line generated based on the isolated telematics data points is then compared to vector lines representing entrances and exits of the intersection to attempt to identify an intersection entrance and exit from the vehicle trip. The simplified line is then compared to an average simplified line representing trips of other vehicles through the same entrance and exit of the same intersection to determine whether the vehicle turned through the intersection. If it is determined that the vehicle turned through the intersection, the telematics data associated with the vehicle trip may be compared to telematics data associated with other vehicle trips through the intersection.

Roadway maintenance condition detection and analysis

A system and method for analyzing the effectiveness of road maintenance efforts within a district is provided. Data obtained from roadway weather information stations and a traffic data monitoring system is gathered to determine when weather events begin and end based upon weather conditions and traffic information. The effectiveness of roadway maintenance efforts after the end of such weather event is determined.

METHOD FOR THE COMMUNICATION OF AT LEAST TWO USERS OF A NETWORKED TRAFFIC SYSTEM

A method for the communication of at least two users of a networked traffic system. A first user sends pieces of exchange information using a first signal transmission path, the pieces of exchange information including first sensor data of the first user and a code representing the first user. The first user sends the representative code or one further representative code using at least one second signal transmission path. A second user receives the pieces of exchange information via the first signal transmission path. The second user ascertains using a surroundings sensor system second sensor data by detecting surroundings. The second user receives using the surroundings sensor system the code sent via the second signal transmission path. The second user associates the first sensor data and the second sensor data with one another with the aid of the representative code and/or with the aid of the further representative code.

A vehicle rearview warning system has a rearview-mirror monitor, a front image-capturing device outputting a front driving image, a rear image-capturing device outputting a rear driving image, and an edge computing device signally connected to the rearview-mirror monitor, the front image-capturing device, and the rear image-capturing device. The edge computing device receives the front driving image and the rear driving image respectively, recognizes a vehicle object from the front driving image or the rear driving image, and determines whether to activate the rearview-mirror monitor to display a warning image according to the vehicle object.
