METHODS OF COMMUNICATION IN TRAFFIC INTERSECTION MANAGEMENT
A vehicle computer for use in a vehicle. The vehicle computer includes at least one processor; an interface to a radio communications network; and a memory including software instructions configured to control the at least one processor to implement a method including steps of: receiving, from a traffic information hub in the radio communications network, intersection condition information regarding a next intersection along a route of the vehicle; and calculating route and navigation information based at least in part on the received intersection condition information. Also disclosed is a traffic information hub including: at least one processor; an interface to a data network; and a memory including software instructions configured to control the at least one processor to implement a method including steps of: receiving intersection condition information for each one of a plurality of traffic intersections; and receiving a query from a vehicle.
Apparatus and methods for predicting wrong-way-driving events
An apparatus, method and computer program product are provided for predicting wrong-way-driving events. A WWD event defines an event in which a vehicle travels in a direction opposing a traffic direction designated for a portion of a road. In one example, the apparatus estimates a likelihood of portion of the road inducing a wrong-way-driving (WWD) event by using a machine learning model as a function of map data, sensor data, or a combination thereof. If the likelihood satisfies a threshold, the apparatus updates a map layer to indicate the WWD event at the portion of the road.
Communication methods and devices in intelligent transport systems
According to some embodiments, there is provided a Collective Perception Message, CPM, characterizing a plurality of Vulnerable Road Users based on a plurality of received VAMs, thereby allowing an ITS station to efficiently aggregate VAM messages from VRUs and retransmit information about the VRUs to other ITS stations. Consequently, the security is improved as some ITS stations may not be able to detect or identify VRU stations by themselves but thanks to the CPM, these stations can still be informed of the VRUs. According to other aspects, congestion is avoided while maintaining safety vis-à-vis VRUs thanks to the use of a different transmission scheme when the VRU is already characterized in a CPM sent to the ITS stations. Also, a receiving station can evaluate whether the content of a CPM can be trusted or not. Safety is thus improved. This is achieved thanks to the CPM that references a certificate.
Systems, methods, and devices for communication between traffic controller systems and mobile transmitters and receivers
Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for improving traffic safety and efficiency. The system includes various signal transmitters and receivers positioned throughout roadways, within automobiles, in smartphones, or supported by a cellular network backbone, for distributing traffic related information to users and traffic controller equipment. Embodiments of the present disclosure allow for vehicles and/or pedestrians to initiate a dual-transmission of cellular and RF signals for changing a traffic light state, where the first signal received at a traffic intersection controller unit is processed for changing the traffic light state (e.g., changing a light from red to green on-demand). Other embodiments of the present disclosure allow for users to receive visible and/or audible traffic related alerts on mobile devices, where the alerts are based on data shared between nearby drivers, pedestrians, and the traffic controlling equipment.
Warning system and method for two-wheeled vehicle
A warning system and method are provided. The warning system includes a plurality of sensing apparatuses and a server. The sensing apparatuses are used for sensing a driving trajectory of each of a plurality of two-wheeled vehicles. The server compares the driving trajectories with an accident hotspot list to determine whether at least one first driving trajectory matches an accident hotspot location, wherein the accident hotspot list is generated by a plurality of driving behavior events corresponding to each of the two-wheeled vehicles. The server generates a warning message to remind a first driver of a first two-wheeled vehicle corresponding to the at least one first driving trajectory when determining that the at least one first driving trajectory matches the accident hotspot location.
Methods of CD40 activation and immune checkpoint blockade
Provided herein are methods and compositions for treating cancer in an individual comprising administering to the individual an effective amount of at least one immune checkpoint inhibitor and a chimeric CD 154 polypeptide. Also provided herein are methods of enhanced immune function.
Method and apparatus for enhancing driver situational awareness
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining, by a system comprising a processor, a driver profile according to a driver identity for a driver of a vehicle, selecting a driver-specific enforcement scenario for the vehicle according to the driver profile and traffic enforcement information that is associated with a vehicle location, and presenting an in-vehicle alert to convey the driver-specific enforcement scenario to the driver. Other embodiments are disclosed.
MULTI-OPERATIONAL ORIENTATION SYSTEMS FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES AND SMART INFRASTRUCTURE
Presently disclosed is a system, apparatus, and method for navigating and orienting roadway vehicles by use of a network of embedded navigation beacons within a roadway. A plurality of primary navigation beacons are embedded into a roadway surface with sensors, and communicate with a car and a smaller subset of secondary beacons with connection to the internet. Further disclosed is a landing pad for a drone delivery system, the landing pad acting as a navigational beacon and safe landing location indicator for the aerial drone.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING AN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE
Aspects of the disclosure relate generally to controlling an autonomous vehicle in a variety of unique circumstances. These include adapting control strategies of the vehicle based on discrepancies between map data and sensor data obtained by the vehicle. These further include adapting position and routing strategies for the vehicle based on changes in the environment and traffic conditions. Other aspects of the disclosure relate to using vehicular sensor data to update hazard information on a centralized map database. Other aspects of the disclosure relate to using sensors independent of the vehicle to compensate for blind spots in the field of view of the vehicular sensors. Other aspects of the disclosure involve communication with other vehicles to indicate that the autonomous vehicle is not under human control, or to give signals to other vehicles about the intended behavior of the autonomous vehicle.
Synchronized work zone traffic management systems and methods
Synchronized work zone traffic management systems and methods are disclosed herein. An example method includes synchronizing, by a first vehicle, communication with a second vehicle over a wireless link, and displaying alternatingly, by the first vehicle, one of two messages on a first external display according to an alternating schema. A first message indicates to drivers to drive slowly and a second message indicates to the drivers to stop. The first message being displayed on the first external display when the second vehicle is displaying the second message on a second external display. The first vehicle displaying the second message on the first external display when the second vehicle is displaying the first message on the second external display. The alternating displaying of the first and second messages being used to control flow of traffic on a one-way street.
