A method for operating a first vehicle (100) with a parking assistance system (110) is proposed, comprising: a) sensing an obstructing parked position (BP) of the first vehicle (100) by means of the parking assistance system (110), wherein the obstructing parked position (BP) is a parked position which adjoins a parking space (PP) occupied by a parked second vehicle (150), b) reception of a sensor signal, acquired by a sensor apparatus (120, 130) of the vehicle (100), by means of the parking assistance system (110), c) detecting a request to exit a parking space of the parked second vehicle (150) in accordance with the received sensor signal by means of the parking assistance system (110), and d) autonomously driving the first vehicle (100) from the obstructing parked position (BP) into a position which is different from the obstructing parked position (BP) in accordance with the detected request to exit a parking space by means of the parking assistance system (110).
Systems and methods for providing warnings of imminent hazards
A system and method for alerting a driver of a motor vehicle or a person walking along a road or hiking on a trail of potentially dangerous hazards in their path. Hazards may be deep water, ice, oil slicks or other hazards. In the case of a motor vehicle, the system uses cameras mounted on or within the vehicle to detect potential hazards and then analyzes the images combined with the known topography of the location to evaluate the ability of the vehicle to safely traverse the hazard. In the case of a person walking or hiking, the person may use the camera on a personal mobile device to capture images of the hazard and to combine the images with the known topography at the location to evaluate the danger presented by the hazard.

A management controller manages an automated valet parking service in which a vehicle travels autonomously to enter or exit a designated parking position in a parking lot having a plurality of parking positions. The management controller acquires the designated parking position of a service utilizing vehicle parked by the automated valet parking service. The management controller acquires a scheduled exit time of the service utilizing vehicle. The management controller determines a start timing of an air conditioner of the service utilizing vehicle based on the designated parking position and the scheduled exit time, and The management controller instructs the service utilizing vehicle to start the air conditioner at the start timing.

The invention relates to a method for determining an occupancy status of a parking bay, wherein a vehicle is moved along a street segment with at least one parking bay and the vehicle has a distance sensor as well as a sensor for satellite-based location and time determination. Furthermore, static parking information on the position of the parking bays in a street segment and parking information on the parking bays are on hand. By means of distance and location data projected distance data are produced which each indicate a distance datum of the distance sensor to the next object in the sensor direction at a point of the street of the street segment at the parking bay. By means of these projected distance data a standard distance is ascertained. Subsequently, for each point of a parking bay the determination is made if this is unoccupied by comparing the distance datum with the standard distance plus a delta. An area of a parking bay is determined as one or several vacant parking spaces if the rounded-down quotient of the length of the adjoining contiguous unoccupied points to the length of an average parking space is 1 or greater.

The system comprises a server comprising sensor data of stop points, one or more processors, and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform: determining, from the stop points, one or more available stop points; selecting, from the one or more available stop points, a stop point based on a criteria; and stopping the vehicle at the selected stop point.

A parking priority setter is configured to set a parking priority for the virtual parking region based on a movement trace and an object. A display selector is configured to display parking space candidates based on parking priority and instructs a driver to select a parking space candidate.
