A method includes receiving first data from one or more vehicles in a geographic area, the first data indicating operation of an active safety system by at least one of the one or more vehicles, receiving second data indicating driving performance of the one or more vehicles, determining whether the driving performance of the one or more vehicles in the geographic area is improved or diminished by the use of the active safety system based on the first data and the second data, and transmitting a signal to a vehicle approaching the geographic area to cause the vehicle approaching the geographic area to activate or deactivate the active safety system based on the determination.
Systems and methods for associating a telematics device with an asset tracker
An asset tracker deployed in an engineless vehicle and a telematics device coupled to a vehicle both send location updates to a telematics server. The asset tracker sends location updates at a faster rate upon leaving a shipping yard, for example. The telematics server associates the vehicle and engineless vehicles, determines whether they are travelling together, and sends a notification when they are not supposed to be travelling together.
Autonomous driving instructions
Current data for a geographic area is accessed. The current data comprises at least one of (a) current traffic data for the geographic area, (b) current incident data for the geographic area, or (c) current weather data for the geographic area. Based on the current data, autonomous driving instructions are determined for the geographic area. A notification comprising the autonomous driving instructions is provided such that the notification is received by a vehicle apparatus located within the geographic area or expected to enter the geographic area based on a route being traversed by a vehicle corresponding to the vehicle apparatus. The vehicle apparatus is onboard the vehicle and is configured to control the vehicle in accordance with the autonomous driving instructions.
Method and apparatus for providing mobility insight data for points of interest
An approach is provided for providing mobility insight data related to shared vehicles for a point of interest (POI). The approach involves retrieving shared vehicle data for the POI. The shared vehicle data indicates one or more shared vehicle events that have occurred, that are occurring at a given time, or a combination thereof within a threshold proximity of the POI. The approach also involves processing the shared vehicle data to determine mobility insight data. The mobility insight data includes a shared vehicle usage pattern, a shared vehicle availability pattern, or a combination thereof under one or more contexts for travel to or from the POI. The approach further involves presenting the mobility insight data in a location-based user interface.
Vehicle-to-X communication and handling for vehicle coordination and management
A system receives confirmation that a vehicle has accepted automatic control imposition for a drive within a geo-fenced boundary. The system tracks travel of a plurality of vehicles, including the vehicle, within the geo-fenced boundary. The system may determine that the vehicle has a threshold likelihood of encountering at least one of another vehicle or a boundary of the geo-fence at a threshold speed or above and responsive to the determination, impose automatic control on the vehicle, including at least one of controlled braking or speed limiting.

A computer-implemented method for altering an appearance of an electrochromic coating of a vehicle is provided. The method includes determining that a vehicle is a boundary area of a testing zone based on a determined location of the vehicle.
