LUMINOUS AND AUTONOMOUS ADVERTISING CASING
Disclosed is an advertising casing (1) comprising a bottom wall (2), side walls (3) and a front face (4) having an opening (5), the advertising casing (1) comprising: a light source (7) positioned inside the casing (1); a diffusion plate (10) for diffusing the light, comprising a decorative layer and closing the opening (5) of the front face (4) of the casing (1).
According to the invention, the light source (7) is electrically connected to a control module (8), the control module (8) is electrically connected to a solar panel (6) positioned on one of the faces of the casing (1) and to a battery (9).
NFC-powered LED sticker with integral capacitor
An LED sticker is disclosed that receives an NFC transmission from a nearby smartphone to energize LEDs in the sticker. A spiral (or loop) antenna is used in the sticker to generate power from the NFC transmission. The NFC signal is at 13.56 MHz, which is the resonant frequency of the NFC antenna circuit in the smartphone. The LED portion is formed by sandwiching pre-formed microscopic LEDs between two conductive layers to connect the LEDs in parallel. The conductive layers form a relatively large integral capacitor that is used to achieve the 13.56 MHz resonant frequency. So no additional capacitor is needed in the circuit to achieve a resonance of 13.56 MHz. This greatly reduces the design requirements of the antenna. The LED sticker may also contain an NFC tag having its own independent loop antenna and NFC chip. Various practical applications of the LED sticker are disclosed.
Animated poster
An animated poster system including a simulation panel, an image server having appropriately processed media, and a projector enable a moving image to appear on a textured surface of the panel with no detectable projection devices. The simulation panel includes a portion that, when illuminated by the projector with the media, appears to be paper that is wrinkled, torn, and/or pasted to the wall, and includes graphics that also appear to be printed but include moving images. The animated poster system can produce a convincing illusion of an animated poster, even at close observing distances.
Display device
A display device includes first light emitting devices arranged in a line in a protective member, second light emitting devices parallel to and alternately arranged with the first light emitting devices, and optical member supporters in the protective member between the first and second light emitting devices. Each optical member supporter is positioned at a center of a parallelogram defined by two adjacent first light emitting devices and two adjacent second light emitting devices, and each transparent optical member supporter includes a first surface that faces one of the first light emitting devices and a second surface opposite the first surface that faces one of the second light emitting devices. Each optical member supporter includes a plate portion having the first and second surfaces, and a hook portion that extends through the protective member. A width of the plate portion decreases with increasing distance from the hook portion.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, IN PARTICULAR FOR A VEHICLE
An instrument cluster, in particular for a vehicle, has a dial with a plurality of graphic areas, which are backlit by a device provided with at least one light source, with a front light-guiding element having a front face at least partially covered by a back surface of the dial, and with a rear light-guiding element; the latter has a receiving portion facing said light source and a transmitting portion, which transmits and guides the light received by the receiving portion and is spaced apart from and faces a rear face of the front light-guiding element; the rear face of the front light-guiding element has an optical compensation system, having curved convex or curved concave lens surfaces, for varying the intensity of the light transmitted from said transmission portion to the different graphic areas.
METHOD OF ATTACHING A DIFFUSER TO AN ILLUMINATED SIGN
The invention relates generally to illuminated signs (100) having multiple point light sources such as light emitting diode arrays as the illumination source for legend-bearing face panels and particularly to diffuser structure mountable in relation to such an array for facilitating an even distribution of light within such a sign to improve illumination of the typically translucent legend disposed on such a face panel. In particular, the invention employs a clear diffuser holder (120) that is secured to the inside surface of el the face panel thereby providing a means of removeably attaching a diffuser (130). The invention permits interchangeably employing diffusers of different colors while providing resistance to vandalism.
VISCOELASTIC LIGHTGUIDE
Disclosed herein is an optical device having a light source and a viscoelastic lightguide. Light from the light source enters the viscoelastic lightguide and is transported within the lightguide by total internal reflection. The viscoelastic lightguide may comprise a pressure sensitive adhesive. The optical device may be used in a variety of constructions wherein the device emits light being transported within the viscoelastic lightguide. Constructions include those used for signs, markings, illumination devices, display devices, keypad assemblies and tail light assemblies for vehicles.
DEVICE FOR DISPLAYING A BACKLIT IMAGE
Disclosed herein are frameless display devices comprising a glass sheet (110) having a first surface, an opposing second surface, and a thickness between the first and second surfaces of less than 3 mm; a transparent adhesive layer (120); and an assembly comprising a backlight unit and a back panel (160); wherein at least one of the first and second surfaces is patterned with an image; and wherein the transparent adhesive layer (120) affixes the first surface of the glass sheet (110) to a surface of the assembly. Also disclosed herein are display devices comprising a glass sheet (110) having a first surface, an opposing second surface, a thickness between the first and second surfaces of less than about 3 mm, and a core having a plurality of light extraction features; a transparent adhesive layer (120); and an assembly comprising a back panel (160). Further disclosed herein are kits for making frameless display devices.
Monitor cover and lighting apparatus and method
A device including a monitor assembly having an outlet configured to selectively distribute a fire suppressant there from, the outlet being pivotal about a first axis and a second axis, a cover coupled to the monitor assembly, and a light assembly coupled to the cover. The light assembly illuminates indicia on a lens of the light assembly.
