DRUM TUNING ASSEMBLY AND TUNABLE DRUM SYSTEM
A tuning assembly and tunable drug system are described. The tuning assembly including a pressure ring, a rope ring with a first plurality of holes and a second plurality of holes, a rope system coupled to the first plurality of holes and a membrane of a drum head, and a plurality of fasteners engaging the second plurality of holes in the rope ring and a surface of the pressure ring. Tightening the plurality of fasteners increases the distance between the rope ring and the pressure ring causing the rope ring to pull the rope system and apply pressure to the membrane of the drum head.

DRUM
The invention relates to a drum having a drum shell which forms an upper and a lower part (1, 2), is divided by a system ring (3) and is covered on each of the two open cover sides by a respective drumhead (4) which is tensioned down on the drum by a respective tension hoop (5) which is fastened to the drum by way of tuning screws (6), wherein the tension hoops (5) are tensioned against the common system ring (3) by way of their respective tuning screws (6) with interposition of the upper and lower parts (1, 2) respectively. In order to create advantageous construction conditions, it is proposed that the drum shell consists at least in sections of stone material and that the upper and lower parts (1, 2) of the two-part drum shell are bonded to the system ring (3) via stone silicone as an adhesive.
DEVICE FOR WRAPPING THREAD AROUND A HEAD OF A PERCUSSION MALLET
A thread-wrapping device for a percussion mallet is disclosed. The thread-wrapping device includes a frame, a spindle, and a wrapping arm. The spindle is designed to retain the percussion mallet and is rotatably supported by the frame. The wrapping arm is supported by the frame and designed to rotate when the spindle rotates to wrap thread around a head of the percussion mallet. Further, a hand crank is provided to rotate the spindle and wrapping arm.
Low volume drumhead
According to some embodiments, a low volume drumhead is disclosed. The low volume drumhead comprises a mesh layer to be removably coupled to a drum hoop. The low volume drumhead further comprises a non-mesh layer affixed to a beatable surface of the mesh layer. An adhesive comprising elastic polymers is used to couple the mesh layer to the non-mesh layer.

Materials and fabrication method for percussive musical instruments
A method of making tonebars and other components for musical instruments comprises using a pultrusion apparatus to embed or coat glass, plant-based, and/or other fibers in or with a thermosetting, thermoplastic, or catalyzed polymer matrix. The coated fibers are pulled into a continuous bar in a curing and forming die. The bar is then cut into predetermined lengths. Each length is then carefully tuned by cutting and shaping so that when it is struck, it will emit musical notes on a chromatic musical scale. In one aspect, the fibers and resin are selected to produce tonebars for marimbas and xylophones that emulate the sound obtained from highly desirable Honduran rosewood at a fraction of the cost and environmental impact associated with this wood.

Drumhead With Printed Layer for Initiating Ferrous Response and Method of Making
A drumhead includes a membrane with ferrous responsive material printed onto a surface or otherwise incorporated into it. The ferrous responsive material is detectable by an electromagnetic sensor such that striking the membrane causes vibration that is detected by the sensor, which may initiate an acoustic sound via a sound module. The drumhead may thus be used in an electronic drumming system without requiring fixation of a foreign object to a surface of the membrane.
