A pedal device receives a connection signal transmitted from headphone to establish first communication that is communication with the headphone. Then, in a case where the first communication has been established, the pedal device transmits the connection signal including information indicating that communication with the headphone has been established. By receiving the connection signal from the pedal device, a portable terminal establishes second communication that is communication with the pedal device. In a case where the received connection signal includes information that the communication with the headphone has been established, the portable terminal may determine that communication establishment between the pedal device and the headphone has been completed.

Facilitating sharing of setting data in binary format for electronic device
09853853 · 2017-12-26 · ·

An electronic device has setting data in binary format formulated according to a specific format suitable to realize a function in the device. In order to share the setting data in binary format with another device, the electronic device converts the setting data in binary format to setting data in text format and transmits (uploads) a set of text data containing the converted setting data in text format to a network communication service provided on a server through a communication network. The network communication service may be a conventional communication service of a web site capable of handling text data. Another electronic device can access the network communication service through communication network, receive (download) the set of text data, and then reversely convert the setting data in text format contained the received set of text data to the original setting data in binary format.

Musical Instrument Interface Device

A musical device between one or more Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) controllers and one or more musical instruments comprises a housing and a plurality of potentiometers on a surface of the housing. A method of mapping music messages using a musical device is provided. The method includes defining a preset value corresponding to a frequency to be received within a MIDI message. Once a MIDI message having the frequency is received by the device, the device uses the data of the MIDI message and the preset value to create a new output MIDI message. The new output message is then transmitted to a sound module for producing a sound that differs from the sound that would have been produced from the MIDI message, had it been received.

A sound control device includes a selector, a sound signal generator, a switcher, and a controller. The selector is configured to select, based on a user operation, one piece of setting information among a plurality of pieces of setting information including at least one timbre group and one effect setting group. The sound signal generator is configured to generate a sound signal based on performance information and the selected setting information. The switcher configured to switch between a hold-enabled state and a hold-disabled state based on a user operation. The controller configured to control the sound signal generator to generate the sound signal such that in the hold-enabled state, even if the selection of the setting information is switched by the selector, at least the effect setting is maintained.

CONTROL DEVICE, ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT SYSTEM, AND CONTROL METHOD

Provided is a control device which controls an electronic musical instrument, comprising: an acquisition means which understands the intention of an utterance of a user on the basis of the utterance, and acquires from a dialogue engine that generates first data in which the intention is stated, the first data generated in response to the utterance; a storage means which stores conversion data in which the first data and a control command for controlling the electronic musical instrument are associated with each other; and a conversion means which generates, on the basis of the acquired first data and the conversion data, second data suitable for a control interface of the electronic musical instrument to be controlled, and transmits the second data to the electronic musical instrument.

COMPUTER INPUT FROM MUSIC DEVICES

A method for interfacing tones with a computer enables a music device to emulate the functions of a computer keyboard. The method includes receiving a digital signal representing one or more note events and identifying a group of concurrent notes from the one or more note events, wherein the one or more note events each have a pitch, a velocity and an initiation. In accordance with a pitch class of a base note of the group of notes and intervals computed between pitch classes of the notes of the group as ordered by the pitch of the note events, the group of notes are translated into a computer input signal representative of one or more keystrokes on a computer keyboard and the computer input signal is sent to a computer for output or further processing.

MICROTONAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENT INTERFACE DEVICE

To assist a human player in performing a plurality of foot operators (pedal keys) operable with a human player's foot, a foot operator image indicative of the foot operators is displayed on a display screen. Model performance data including at least information indicative of a rhythm and a pitch of a foot performance part to be performed by use of the foot operators is acquired, and a particular foot operator corresponding to the pitch of the foot performance part included in the acquired model performance data is visually designated. At the same time, based on rhythm information for the foot performance part, a rhythm of a sound corresponding to the particular foot operator is presented. The presentation of the rhythm is performed by presenting a sound generation timing and a time length of the sound, and a suitable marker indicative of a performance progression may be additionally displayed.
