INTERCHANGEABLE TRANSDUCER SYSTEM FOR ELECTRIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
An interchangeable transducer system for electrical musical instruments, wherein the system embodies one or more transducer cavities formed into the musical instrument, wherein self-contained transducers can slide into and out of each transducer cavity. Thereby the same instrument can generate vastly different tonal qualities depending on the type of self-contained transducers the user interchanges within each transducer cavity.
SYSTAINER SYSTEM FOR ELECTRIC STRINGED INSTRUMENTS
A simple yet effective sustainer for electronic stringed instruments having a bridge pickup and a neck pickup. A driver assembly, disposed adjacent the neck pickup of the instrument, includes a plurality of electromagnetic transducers operative to induce vibrations in the strings. A battery-operated electronic amplifier has an input adapted for connection to the bridge pickup, and an output connected to the driver assembly, such that, when the instrument is played, string vibrations sensed by the bridge pickup are amplified by the electronic amplifier and used to drive the driver assembly, thereby sustaining the played string vibrations. The driver assembly may be disposed in a ring that surrounds the neck pickup of the instrument. The ring may include an ON/OFF switch that routes power from the battery to the electronic amplifier and simultaneously deactivates the bridge pickup in the ON position. The ring may further include a phase reversal switch.
System and method for switching sound pickups in an electric guitar using a spin wheel arrangement
The embodiments herein provide a system and method for instantly switching sound pickups in an electric guitar using a spin wheel arrangement in the middle of a song. The spin wheel houses a pickup assembly with multiple pickups. The spin wheel allows a guitar player to easily roll neck pickup to bridge position and bridge pickup to neck position in middle of a song by rotating the spin wheel. A click stop arrangement halts wheel rotation after completing a semi-circular rotation around a center screw. The backend portion of pickups is connected to spring loaded plunger. The contact pads at bottom portion of guitar body establishes electrical connections between pickups and control components. The pickups under the strings get activated. The spin wheel arrangement allows a guitar player to add favorite pickups for generating various tonalities beyond the limit of a single guitar.
INTERCHANGEABLE ELECTRIC GUITAR PICKUP SYSTEM
A novel mechanical mounting and electrical connection system for electric guitar pickups. The mechanical mounting component generally consists of one electric guitar pickup baseplate with one or more male elements and an electric guitar pickup module with one or more female elements configured to be press fitted into the male element of the baseplate for securing the position. The electrical connection component consists of one electric guitar pickup baseplate attached with a printed circuit board loaded with one or more spring-loaded contact connectors and one electric guitar pickup module attached with a printed circuit board with one or more connections slots for securing contact and connecting electronically each component.
MAGNETICALLY SECURED CYMBAL TRIGGER AND CHOKE ASSEMBLY
An apparatus, system, and method for a magnetically and releaseably attachable trigger for an instrument is provided along with a choking device for use of the trigger in connection with a cymbal or like percussion device. The trigger and securing device are disposed on either side of a cymbal surface or a cymbal stand via magnetic force and the choking mechanism is in electrical connection with the trigger to interrupt the signal for choking purposes and is mounted on a surface of the cymbal to be choked.
PRECISION SOLID STATE STRING MOTION TRANSDUCER FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS WITH NON-FERROMAGNETIC STRINGS, AND METHOD FOR PRECISION MEASUREMENTS OF TIME-VARIABLE POSITION USING 3-POLE PERMANENT MAGNETS
A single axis position transducer uses an elongate permanent three pole magnet having a radial magnetic field at a spot along the magnet in which the magnetic field has radial field lines that decay as 1/R. R is the distance from the center of the magnet along a radial field line perpendicular to the axis of the magnet. The spot has a first pole of one polarity, and the magnet has poles of the opposite polarity spaced along the magnet on opposite sides of the first pole of the radial magnetic field located at the spot. At least one magnetic field sensor is positioned proximal to the spot along the elongate member that detects the motion of the spot and electrically amplifies the sensor output.
Pickup assembly for an electrical stringed musical instrument
A pickup for a musical instrument includes a first assembly, a housing, and a magnet. The first assembly comprises a base plate, a pole that extends from the base plate, and a coil of wire wrapped around the pole. A first lead wire extends from a first coil end and a second lead wire extends from a second coil end. The housing is user attachable to, and detachable from, the top of the first assembly, independently of any electrical connections made to electronics of the musical instrument. Moreover, the housing attaches to and detaches from the first assembly such that when attached, the pole of the first assembly is in magnetic cooperation with the magnet. Also, the housing is removable, thus allowing the magnet to be changed out to another magnet without removing strings or other hardware of the musical instrument.
HANDHELD ELECTRONIC MUSICAL PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT
An apparatus, system, and method for an electronic handheld musical instrument that generates electronic signals for processing by a processor-based module to generate musical sounds adapted to replicate non-electronic traditional hand percussion and other handheld instruments, is provided. A piezoelectric-based trigger is secured in an enclosed volume or enclosure formed in the electronic handheld musical instrument. When manipulated by a musician in a normal fashion, freely moving beads float or travel within the enclosure of the electronic handheld musical instrument and strike against a sensitive face of the piezoelectric transducer device to create a desired sound effect.
Magnetically secured instrument trigger
An apparatus, system, and method for a magnetically and releaseably attachable trigger for an instrument is provided. The trigger and securing device are disposed on either side of a drumhead or other instrument surface via magnetic force, keeping the instrument surface intact and not deforming the instrument surface. Additionally, the trigger provides for an increased sensitivity of sound by being in direct physical contact with the surface on which it is attached.
ELECTRIC GUITAR WITH REPLACEABLE PICKUP, AND PICKUP ELEMENT FOR SAME
The electric guitar contains at least one pickup in a recess on the guitar body. This pickup can be installed in a mounting frame and has electrical contact points which lead via a cable to the output port on the guitar body. The pickup has a fixing plate on its rear side, which is screwed onto the height adjuster of the pickup via a threaded bush at a variable distance from the base plate of the pickup. It contains spring-loaded pins which are electrically connected to the coils of the pickup. The fixing plate can be inserted without tools from the rear of the guitar body into a recess in the pickup frame and removed again from the pickup frame without tools. When the pickup is inserted, the pins on the fixing plate are connected to the electrical contact points on the mounting frame and the fixing plate is held in place on the mounting frame by means of permanent magnets.
