HEARING PROTECTION METHOD CAPABLE OF BLOCKING EXTERNAL HIGH-SOUND-PRESSURE-LEVEL ENERGY
The present disclosure provides a hearing protection method capable of blocking external high-sound-pressure-level energy, including: a second sound pressure energy threshold being greater than a first sound pressure energy threshold; when an external sound energy value is greater than the first sound pressure energy threshold and is less than the second sound pressure energy threshold, enabling a preset active noise cancellation function; and when the external sound energy value is greater than the second sound pressure energy threshold, disabling the preset active noise cancellation function, and blocking high-sound-pressure-level energy by means of passive noise cancellation. The present disclosure can block the external high-sound-pressure-level energy.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NOISE CANCELING
A method of canceling road noise includes: receiving a first signal from an acceleration sensor disposed at a vehicle and a second signal from a microphone disposed at the vehicle; monitoring, based on the first and second signals, whether an abnormal event has occurred; determining, based on a result from monitoring whether the abnormal event has occurred, a plurality of parameter values for performing adaptive filtering; and performing, based on the determined parameter values, adaptive filtering to generating an output signal for noise canceling.
FEEDBACK CANCELLATION DIVERGENCE PREVENTION
Improved adaptive feedback cancellation may be used to improve performance of audio amplification systems, such as hearing assistance devices, sound reinforcement systems, telephony, and other acoustic amplification and reproduction systems. This adaptive feedback cancellation allows a significant increase in the maximum stable gain of the amplification system, such as by increasing gain while reducing or eliminating feedback. This improves the audibility provided by an audio amplification system. This may provide particular improvements for hearing assistance devices that include open fittings or otherwise have substantial acoustic leakage. This adaptive feedback cancellation provides additional protection from a dynamically changing acoustic leakage by continually updating itself to model the changes, thereby providing increased gain while reducing or eliminating feedback.
COMPRESSIVE HEAR-THROUGH IN PERSONAL ACOUSTIC DEVICES
The technology described in this document can be embodied in a method that includes receiving an input signal representing audio captured by a microphone of an active noise reduction (ANR) headphone, processing, by one or more processing devices, a portion of the input signal to determine a noise level in the input signal, and determining that the noise level satisfies a threshold condition. The method also includes, in response to determining that the noise level satisfies the threshold condition, generating an output signal in which ANR processing on the input signal is controlled in accordance with a target loudness level of the output signal, and driving an acoustic transducer of the ANR headphone using the output signal.
Headphone acoustic noise cancellation and speaker protection or dynamic user experience processing
A method for audio signal processing of microphone signals of a headphone. An audio signal from a first microphone of a headphone is filtered by an ANC system to produce a first filtered signal. Dynamic range control is performed upon the first filtered signal to produce a first dynamic range adjusted signal that drives a speaker of the headphone. Other aspects are also described and claimed.
