Information processing apparatus and information processing method for decoding, reproducing and providing encrypted content
An information processing apparatus includes a data processing unit which executes processing for decoding and reproducing encrypted content. The data processing unit executes processing for determining whether the content can be reproduced by applying an encrypted content signature file. The encrypted content signature file stores information on issue date of the encrypted content signature file and an encrypted content signature issuer certificate with a public key of an encrypted content signature issuer. In determining whether the content can be reproduced, the data processing unit compares expiration date of the encrypted content signature issuer certificate with the information on issue date of the encrypted content signature file, and does not perform processing for decoding and reproducing the encrypted content when the expiration date is before the issue date, and performs the processing for decoding and reproducing the encrypted content only when the expiration date is not before the issue date.
Reproducing apparatus, correlated information notifying method, and correlated information notifying program
A reproducing apparatus is disclosed. The reproducing apparatus includes a reproducing section, a notifying section, and a notification controlling section. The reproducing section reproduces content data. The notifying section notifies a user that there are content data correlated with content data reproduced by the reproducing section. The notification controlling section determines whether content data correlated with content data reproduced by the reproducing section have been retrieved and controls the notifying section to notify the user that there are the correlated content data when the correlated content data have been retrieved.
Location-based regulation of access
Generally, access to content may be regulated by receiving a content request initiated at a jukebox for access to a content selection, identifying a jukebox location corresponding to a location of the jukebox, determining a permissible location for rendering the content selection, relating the jukebox location to the permissible location, and enabling the content request when the permissible location supports access to the content selection from the jukebox location.
Information processing apparatus, information processing method and program
An information processing apparatus includes a data processing section for reproducing contents stored in a medium having a general purpose area in which encrypted contents and corresponding utilization controlling information are stored and a protected area including a plurality of blocks having access limitation set thereto and including a block having an encryption key for decrypting the encrypted contents stored therein. The data processing section acquires utilization controlling information corresponding to a content from the general purpose area, decides, based on the utilization controlling information, whether validity period information indicative of a content utilization permission period is to be acquired from the utilization controlling information or the encryption key storage block, acquires the validity period information based on a result of the decision and then compares the acquired validity period information and current date information to decide permission or inhibition of content reproduction.
DATA STORAGE MANAGEMENT AND SCHEDULING SYSTEM
A data storage management and scheduling system schedules the recording, storing, and deleting of television and Web page program material on a client system storage medium. A schedule of time versus available storage space is generated that is optimal for the viewer's scheduled program recordings. The programs include television broadcast programs and Universal Resource Locators (URLs). A program is recorded if at all times between when the recording would be initiated and when it expires, sufficient space is available to hold it. All scheduling conflicts are resolved as early as possible.
