TONEARM PIVOT
20230360670 · 2023-11-09 ·

A tonearm including an elongate member, a suspension means, a protrusion and a contact surface. The suspension means suspends the elongate member (8a; 8b; 8c; 8d; 8e) in an approximately horizontal position. The weight of the elongate member is substantially supported by the suspension means. The protrusion is arranged in opposing contact with the contact surface at a contact point, such that action of a drag force substantially parallel to the length of the elongate member urges the contact surface and the protrusion into opposing contact, thereby producing a contact force which resists the drag force. By separating the means for supporting the weight of the elongate member and the means for resisting a drag force acting along the length of the elongate member, the drag force can be more effectively resisted thus providing a tonearm with improved properties.

Tape drive corrosion protection

A system and method for corrosion protection of a tape drive. The system includes: the tape drive, a temperature sensor, a heating entity and a controller for activating the heating entity. The method includes: establishing, via the temperature sensor, temperature information indicative of a temperature in an area of, or within, the tape drive; receiving the temperature information at the controller; and activating the heating entity in a manner dependent on the temperature information established via the temperature sensor in order to prevent corrosion within the tape drive.

A platter supported and driven turntable has a spindle, an upper circular platter, a lower circular platter, an arm board, and a tonearm assembly. The spindle is to rotate about a first direction. The spindle has a hub, a shaft and a bearing assembly between the hub and the shaft. The shaft has a flange. The upper circular platter is attached to the shaft of the spindle. The lower circular platter is attached to the flange of the shaft of the spindle. The arm board is attached to the hub of the spindle. The arm board has a first extension section, a mid-range section, and a second extension section. The mid-range section of the arm board is disposed between the upper circular platter and the lower circular platter. The tonearm assembly is directly attached to the first extension section of the arm board. The second extension section of the arm board is attached to a ballast or a supporting turntable through one or more adjustable height mounts.

LIQUID-BEARING TONEARM DEVICE
20260011343 · 2026-01-08 ·

A liquid-bearing tonearm device is configured to read a record on a turntable and comprises a base seat, a liquid tank and a cartridge assembly. The liquid tank is mounted at the base seat, disposed over the turntable, elongated along a linear direction, and has a containing chamber containing working liquid. The cartridge assembly floats on the liquid tank through a floating piece and has a stylus portion and a counterweight portion. The liquid-bearing tonearm device is used with the turntable to play music. A cartridge is assembled to the stylus portion and contacts grooves of the record to read vibrations and signals. When the turntable spins the record, the cartridge assembly floats in the liquid tank and is moved along the linear direction with the cartridge pulled inwardly by the record. So, a contacting angle between the cartridge and the grooves remains parallel, thereby enhancing reading quality.

System and method for cooling storage or accelerator devices

A chassis may include a member. The member may include a system channel for a liquid coolant to flow and a slot in the member for a storage device. A liquid cooling block may be associated with the slot in the member. The liquid cooling block may include a block channel for the liquid coolant to flow to remove heat from the storage device.
