A tone arm for a record player is provided. The tone arm comprises an anterior arm section adapted for mounting a pickup cartridge thereto, an posterior arm section adapted for mounting to the record player, and a mounting component comprising a plurality of discrete contact surfaces that adapted for abutting one of i) anterior arm section and ii) the posterior arm section, and preferably discrete contact surfaces for each of the anterior arm section and the posterior arm section. Whereby, the mounting component is adapted to secure the anterior arm section and the posterior arm section to each other. Therefore, through the present document is described the mounting component, the tone arm, and a method of making the latter with the mounting component.

A tone arm according to an embodiment includes: a first arm configured to rotate around a rotation shaft in a horizontal direction of a record; a second arm configured to rotate around a free fulcrum of the first arm as the first arm rotates; a motor configured to rotatably drive the first arm; and a controller configured to control a phase angle of the motor so that the second arm is disposed with a longitudinal axis thereof extends in a tangent direction of a groove of the record at a contact position of a stylus attached to a tip portion of the second arm and the groove of the record.

A record player capable of playing phonographic records that may be played in a scratch style by a user. The record player includes a tonearm that is rotatably supported at or near an end of the tonearm by a structure having both horizontally and vertically fastening points to the tonearm. The fastening points are configured to receive a user activated tension adjustment element. A user may advance or retreat the tension adjustment element to selectably control the positioning, or relative tension in the tonearm such that any record skipping due to undesirable tonearm pressure is controlled, or to achieve a specific sound.

A record player capable of playing phonographic records that may be played in a scratch style by a user. The record player includes a tonearm that is rotatably supported at or near an end of the tonearm by a structure having both horizontally and vertically fastening points to the tonearm. The fastening points are configured to receive a user activated tension adjustment element. A static electricity elimination floating tonearm includes a tonearm base, a tonearm, a deflector and an ion air-pressure device. An air-floating arm tube extends horizontally from a side of the tonearm base, a top edge of the air-floating arm tube is provided with air holes arranged at intervals, the tonearm includes a floating piece and an arm rod, and the ion air-pressure device is provided for generating an airflow with positive and negative ions which is sent into the changer of the air-floating arm tube and blown out from the air holes of the air-floating arm tube, the floating piece together with the arm rod are blown upward to define an air-floating state, and deflected by the floating piece and the deflector and blown towards the turntable, not only providing a frictionless air-floating displacement state of the tonearm, but also eliminating static electricity and dust on the turntable.

A static electricity elimination floating tonearm includes a tonearm base, a tonearm, a deflector and an ion air-pressure device. An air-floating arm tube extends horizontally from a side of the tonearm base, a top edge of the air-floating arm tube is provided with air holes arranged at intervals, the tonearm includes a floating piece and an arm rod, and the ion air-pressure device is provided for generating an airflow with positive and negative ions which is sent into the changer of the air-floating arm tube and blown out from the air holes of the air-floating arm tube, the floating piece together with the arm rod are blown upward to define an air-floating state, and deflected by the floating piece and the deflector and blown towards the turntable, not only providing a frictionless air-floating displacement state of the tonearm, but also eliminating static electricity and dust on the turntable.

A liquid-bearing tonearm device is configured to read a record on a turntable and comprises a base seat, a liquid tank and a cartridge assembly. The liquid tank is mounted at the base seat, disposed over the turntable, elongated along a linear direction, and has a containing chamber containing working liquid. The cartridge assembly floats on the liquid tank through a floating piece and has a stylus portion and a counterweight portion. The liquid-bearing tonearm device is used with the turntable to play music. A cartridge is assembled to the stylus portion and contacts grooves of the record to read vibrations and signals. When the turntable spins the record, the cartridge assembly floats in the liquid tank and is moved along the linear direction with the cartridge pulled inwardly by the record. So, a contacting angle between the cartridge and the grooves remains parallel, thereby enhancing reading quality.
