CONDUCTOR TWISTING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LOADING A TWISTING HEAD
The present disclosure relates to a twisting system for twisting multiple conductors together. In one implementation, the twisting system may include a rotatable twisting head having multiple holders for individual conductors of a cable to be twisted, and a loading device for sequentially loading the holders with the individual conductors. The loading device may be configured to be displaced into a transfer position identical for all individual conductors for loading the twisting head, and the twisting head may be configured to rotate a free holder of the twisting head into a suitable receiving position for being loaded with an individual conductor. The present disclosure also relates to a method for loading a twisting head with individual conductors.
HYBRID WIRELINE METHODS AND APPARATUS
Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods of forming and using hybrid wirelines, and associated apparatus thereof. The method is configured to form a hybrid wireline cable that comprises a core having a conductive strand and an insulation layer disposed around the conductive strand. A first plurality of solid wires are disposed around the core to form an inner armor layer. A combination of a first plurality of stranded wires and a second plurality of solid wires are disposed around the inner armor layer to form an outer armor layer. A jacket is disposed around the inner armor layer and the outer armor layer.
HYBRID WIRELINE METHODS AND APPARATUS
Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods of forming and using hybrid wirelines, and associated apparatus thereof. The method is configured to form a hybrid wireline cable that comprises a core having a conductive strand and an insulation layer disposed around the conductive strand. A first plurality of solid wires are disposed around the core to form an inner armor layer. A combination of a first plurality of stranded wires and a second plurality of solid wires are disposed around the inner armor layer to form an outer armor layer. A jacket is disposed around the inner armor layer and the outer armor layer.
Systems and methods for producing cable
One embodiment relates to a method for producing cable. The method includes applying an insulative coating to each of a plurality of conductors to form a plurality of insulated conductors. The method further includes taking up the plurality of insulated conductors in a twisting system to twist the plurality of insulated conductors together and apply a first portion of a desired twist to the plurality of insulated conductors. The method further includes paying off the plurality of insulated conductors from the twisting system to further twist the plurality of insulated conductors together and apply a second portion of a desired twist to the plurality of insulated conductors to form a twisted plurality of insulated conductors.
