Insulated Electric Conductor

An insulated electric conductor includes a flat or round wire made of one or more electrically conductive materials, the flat or round wire having an exterior surface that is free of an oxide layer; and an insulating layer adhering directly to the oxide-layer-free exterior surface to form a coating around the oxide-layer-free exterior surface, the insulating layer being made of at least one thermoplastic material which provides electrical insulation. The flat or round wire is designed to conduct an electrical current.

POLY(ARYL ETHER) COMPOSITIONS FOR POLYMER-METAL JUNCTIONS AND POLYMER-METAL JUNCTIONS AND CORRESPONDING FABRICATION METHODS

Adhesive compositions are described that significantly improve the adhesion of polymer overmold compositions to metal substrates in polymer-metal junctions. The adhesive compositions include one or more poly(aryl ether) polymers, where each of the poly(aryl ether) polymers is, independently, a poly(aryl ether sulfone) polymer or a poly(aryl ether ketone) polymer. The overmold composition includes at least one poly(aryl ether ketone) polymer. Polymer-Metal junctions can be formed by, for example, dip-coating, spin-coating, extruding, or injection molding the adhesive composition and/or the overmold composition onto the metal substrate. Desirable applications settings for the polymer-metal junctions described include, but are not limited to electrical wiring.

Insulating thermally conductive resin composition

An insulating thermally conductive resin composition (1) includes a phase-separated structure including: a first resin phase (2) in which a first resin continues three-dimensionally; and a second resin phase (3) different from the first resin phase and formed of a second resin. Moreover, the insulating thermally conductive resin composition includes: small-diameter inorganic filler (4) unevenly distributed in the first resin phase; and large-diameter inorganic filler (5) that spans the first resin phase and the second resin phase and thermally connects pieces of the small-diameter inorganic filler, which is unevenly distributed in the first resin phase, to one another. Then, an average particle diameter of the small-diameter inorganic filler is 0.1 to 15 μm. Moreover, an average particle diameter of the large-diameter inorganic filler is larger than the average particle diameter of the small-diameter inorganic filler, and is 1 to 100 μm.
