INSULATED CONDUCTORS
The invention relates to an insulated conductor comprising an elongate conductor provided with an insulating layer which comprises a polymeric material. Said polymeric material has a crystallinity of at least 25% and includes a repeat unit of general formula

wherein t1 and w1 independently represent 0 or 1 and v1 represents 0, 1 or 2. The insulating layer has a thickness in the range 2 μm-300 μm.

COATED WIRE
A coated wire suitable for aerospace applications includes a metallic conductor elongated along an axis and having an outer surface extending along the axis, and three coating layers surrounding the conductor. A first coating layer is connected to the outer surface of the conductor and extends along the axis to surround the conductor, and the first coating layer is formed of ethene-tetrafluoroethene. A second coating layer is connected to the first coating layer and extends along the axis to surround the first coating layer, and the second coating layer is formed of polyaryletherketone. A third coating layer is connected to the second coating layer and extends along the axis to surround the third coating layer, wherein the third coating layer is formed of ethene-tetrafluoroethene. The three coating layers may each be continuous and seamless extruded layers in one configuration.
COATED WIRE
A coated wire suitable for aerospace applications includes a metallic conductor elongated along an axis and having an outer surface extending along the axis, and three coating layers surrounding the conductor. A first coating layer is connected to the outer surface of the conductor and extends along the axis to surround the conductor, and the first coating layer is formed of ethene-tetrafluoroethene. A second coating layer is connected to the first coating layer and extends along the axis to surround the first coating layer, and the second coating layer is formed of polyaryletherketone. A third coating layer is connected to the second coating layer and extends along the axis to surround the third coating layer, wherein the third coating layer is formed of ethene-tetrafluoroethene. The three coating layers may each be continuous and seamless extruded layers in one configuration.

Provided is an electrical conducting wire in which eddy current loss is effectively suppressed, mechanical strength is excellent, and electrical conductivity is also excellent while aluminum strands that are not coated with insulating resin are used as strands constituting a split conductor.
An electrical conducting wire, including: a split conductor composed of multiple aluminum strands arranged in parallel to each other or multiple aluminum strands twisted into a helix, wherein each of the strands contains 0.01 to 0.4 mass % of Fe, 0.3 to 0.5 mass % of Cu, 0.04 to 0.3 mass % of Mg, 0.02 to 0.3 mass % of Si, and 0.001 to 0.01 mass % of Ti and V in total, with the balance being Al and inevitable impurities; and wherein each of the strands is not coated with an insulating resin.
