Provided is an ultrathin low-voltage electric wire for an automobile that includes a conductor part and an insulating layer covering the outer periphery of the conductor part, wherein the insulating layer includes a resin composition containing 100 parts by mass of a vinyl chloride resin, 29 to 31 parts by mass of a trimellitic acid-based ester plasticizer, 0.3 to 1.0 parts by mass of a processing aid, and 7 to 11 parts by mass of a thermal stabilizer, the conductor part has a cross-sectional area of 0.13±0.02 mm.sup.2, and the insulating layer has a thickness of 0.16 to 0.25 mm.

A cycloolefin ring-opened copolymer includes a structural unit derived from a norbornene compound that includes a heteroelement-containing hydrocarbon group and a structural unit derived from a norbornene compound that includes a heteroelement-free hydrocarbon group. In this copolymer, the structural unit derived from the norbornene compound that includes the heteroelement-containing hydrocarbon group has a proportional content of not less than 0.01 mol % and not more than 15.00 mol % when all structural units included in the copolymer are taken to be 100 mol %.
Oil-Extended EPDM in Moisture Cure Blend
The present disclosure provides a composition. The composition is crosslinkable and includes an ethylene silane-copolymer, an oil-extended ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM), and a crosslink catalyst. The present disclosure also provides the composition after crosslinking. In an embodiment, a crosslinked composition is provided and includes from 55 wt % to 85 wt % of an ethylene-silane copolymer and from 15 wt % to 45 wt % of an oil-extended EPDM. The crosslinked composition has: (a) a flexural modulus of 50 MPa to 160 MPa; and (b) a hot set elongation greater than 10%. The crosslinked composition can be used as a coating for a coated conductor.

A cable is provided having at least one elongated conductor surrounded by at least one cross-linked layer, said layer being obtained from a polymer composition comprising a polymer, a crosslinking agent, and an amine as co-crosslinking agent, wherein said amine has a nucleophilic value (N) of 14 or more.

An electric wire for use in an electric vehicle with a large current of 100 A or more and a high voltage of 30 V or more includes a conductor and an electrically insulating layer covering an outer surface of the conductor, wherein the conductor includes first twisted wires in each of which a plurality of element wires are twisted together, and the first twisted wires are twisted together to form one or more second twisted wires, wherein an element-wire diameter of each of the element wires is 0.18 mm to 0.35 mm, and wherein a secant modulus of the electrically insulating layer is 15 MPa to 41 MPa.
REACTIVE COMPOUNDING OF ETHYLENE VINYL ACETATE
The present invention provides a method for producing an at least partially crosslinked polymer composition, having a first melt index (MI) value and a first tensile strength, comprising the steps of: a. providing an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer, the EVA copolymer having a second MI value and a second tensile strength and containing at least 30 wt % units derived from vinyl acetate, b. adding from 0.01 to 0.03 wt % of an organic peroxide, wherein the organic peroxide is diluted in 0.001 to 0.05 wt % of white oil, and c. blending the EVA copolymer and the organic peroxide at a temperature sufficient to initiate crosslinking. The first MI value of the at least partially crosslinked polymer composition is less than 5 g/10 min (190° C., 2.16 kg).
