Combined Cable
A combined cable includes at least two cable groups, each comprising at least one cable arranged side by side. Each cable group further comprises an adhesive layer wrapping a periphery of the at least one cable and having adhesion agent located on an outside of the adhesive layer. Each cable group further includes two coating layers, respectively adhered to a periphery of the adhesive layer of each cable group with the adhesion agent from upper and lower sides of the at least two cable groups. The coating layers located between adjacent two cable groups are detachably abutted together.
Hybrid cables comprising carbon nanotubes utilized to transmit power
A hybrid cable may include a central strength member and a plurality of buffer tubes helically wrapped around the central member. Each of the plurality of buffer tubes may house at least one optical fiber, and an outer jacket may surround the plurality of buffer tubes and the central strength member. Additionally, the central strength member may include one or more carbon nanotubes capable of transmitting a power signal.
INSULATING TAPE FOR COATING CONNECTION PORTION OF POWER CABLE, METHOD FOR FORMING INSULATING COATING ON EXTERIOR SURFACE OF CONNECTION PORTION OF POWER CABLE, AND POWER CABLE
An insulating tape for coating a connection portion of a power cable is unlikely to cause local cracking to a fused part even when a highly hydrophilic polyethylene is used. This insulating tape is formed of a resin material including a polyethylene which is at least partially modified by a molecule capable of imparting hydrophilicity; an antioxidant; and a cross-linking agent. The antioxidant has a molecular weight of not less than 190 but less than 1,050. The contained amount of the antioxidant is 0.05-0.8 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the polyethylene. The insulating tape has a thickness of 50-250 μm. In addition, this power cable 1 is provided with a connection structure that has a connection portion formed by conductively connecting ends of multiple power cables where respective conductors are exposed. An insulating coating is formed on the exterior surface of the connection portion by at least winding and cross linking the aforementioned insulating tape around the circumference of the connection portion.
Multi-layer radial water barrier for rapid manufacture
A power cable has a cable core with at least one conductor with an insulating system and a water barrier surrounding the cable core. The water barrier has a helically wound strength bearing layer interconnected by a low melting point material.
MC CABLE WITH TEARABLE ASSEMBLY TAPE
Disclosed is an armored cable assembly including a core having a notched assembly tape about a plurality of conductors. A metal sheath surrounds the core.
Insulating tape for coating connection portion of power cable, method for forming insulating coating on exterior surface of connection portion of power cable, and power cable
An insulating tape, for coating a connection portion of a power cable, includes a resin material which includes polyethylene at least partially modified by a molecule imparting hydrophilicity, an antioxidant, and a crosslinking agent. The antioxidant has a molecular weight in a range of 190 or more and less than 1050. The antioxidant has a content in a range of 0.05 parts by mass or more and 0.8 parts by mass or less, with respect to 100 parts by mass of the polyethylene. The insulating tape has a thickness in a range of 50 μm or more and 250 μm or less.

Coiled tubing power cable with varying inner diameter
A string of coiled tubing having a power cable therein supports and supplies power to an electrical submersible well pump assembly in a well. The coiled tubing has an upper section and a lower section joining each other, the upper section having a smaller inner diameter than the lower section. The power cable has an upper portion installed in the upper section of the coiled tubing and a lower portion installed in the lower section of the coiled tubing. The power cable has three insulated electrical conductors embedded within an elastomeric jacket. A metal armor strip has turns wrapped helically around the jacket. The armor strip is compressed between the jacket and the coiled tubing both in the upper section and in the lower section of the coiled tubing.
