Method of producing magnetic powder
The present disclosure provides a method of producing a magnetic powder capable of providing a bonded magnet having a high remanence. The present disclosure relates to a method of producing a magnetic powder, including: 1) mixing an alkyl silicate with an acidic solution; 2) mixing the resultant alkyl silicate mixture with a SmFeLaN anisotropic magnetic powder; and 3) mixing the resultant magnetic powder mixture with an alkali solution.
NdFeB POLYMER MAGNET COMPOSITE INCLUDING POLYCARBONATE MATRIX AND PROCESSING THEREOF
Polymer magnet composites including NdFeB in a polycarbonate (PC) binder matrix are processed using processes including batch mixing and twin screw extrusion. One method includes adding PC to a compartment of a batch mixer and mixing the PC while the compartment is at a temperature greater than a flow temperature of the PC, to form a mixed PC material. The method also includes adding a NdFeB magnetic material to the compartment with the mixed PC material in four batches while the compartment is at the temperature greater than the flow temperature of the PC to form a mixed PC and NdFeB magnetic material, wherein each batch is mixed in the compartment for 1 to 3 minutes before the next batch is added. In addition, a total mixing time is 6 to 12 minutes, and the compartment includes an inert atmosphere. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
IRON-BASED RARE EARTH BORON-BASED ISOTROPIC MAGNET ALLOY
An iron-based rare earth boron-based isotropic magnet alloy, which has an alloy composition represented by T.sub.100-x-y-z(B.sub.1-nC.sub.n).sub.xRE.sub.yM.sub.z (where T is a transition metal element containing at least Fe, RE contains at least Nd, and M is one or more metal elements selected from the group consisting of Al, Si, V, Cr, Ti, Mn, Cu, Zn, Ga, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ag, Hf, Ta, W, Pt, Au, and Pb), 4.2 atom %≤x≤5.6 atom %, 11.5 atom %≤y≤13.0 atom %, 0.0 atom %≤z≤5.0 atom %, and 0.0≤n≤0.5, and the iron-based rare earth boron-based isotropic magnet alloy has an average crystal grain size of 10 nm to less than 70 nm as a main phase.
Alloy Powders and Methods for Producing the Same
The present invention relates to an alloy with formula of RE-M-B—Fe as defined herein and oxygen content less than 0.9 wt %, wherein said RE is in the range of 29.0 weight % to 33.0 weight %; M is in the range of 0.25 weight % to 1.0 weight %; B is in the range of 0.8 weight % to 1.1 weight %; and Fe makes up the balance. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing a RE-M-Fe—B magnetic powder, as defined herein comprising the steps of: (a) melt spinning a RE-M-Fe—B alloy composition to obtain a melt-spun powder; (b) pressing the melt-spun powder of step (a) to obtain a compact body; (c) hot deforming the compact body of step (b) to obtain a die-upset magnet; (d) crushing the die-upset magnet of step (c) to obtain a powder; (e) milling and sieving the powder of step (d); and (f) passivating the powder of step (e) to obtain a magnetic powder; wherein: each of steps (d) to (f) is performed under a low oxygen environment and transfer between each of steps (d) to (f) is a sealed transfer; and wherein the oxygen content of the low oxygen environment and during each sealed transfer is below 0.5 weight %.
Process for producing R-T-B-based rare earth magnet particles, R-T-B-based rare earth magnet particles, and bonded magnet
A process for producing R-T-B-based rare earth magnet powder having excellent coercive force and high remanent flux density. A process for producing R-T-B-based rare earth magnet powder by HDDR treatment, in which a raw material alloy for the R-T-B-based rare earth magnet powder includes R (wherein R represents at least one rare earth element including Y), T (wherein T represents Fe, or Fe and Co) and B (wherein B represents boron), and has a composition including R in an amount of between 12.0 atom % and 17.0 atom %, and B in an amount of between 4.5 atom % and 7.5 atom %; the HDDR treatment includes a DR step including a preliminary evacuation step and a complete evacuation step; and a rate of pressure reduction caused by evacuation in the preliminary evacuation step is not less than 1 kPa/min and not more than 30 kPa/min.

L10-FeNi magnetic powder and bond magnet
An L10-FeNi magnetic powder has an average particle size of 50 nm to 1 μm, and an average value of sphericity P of 0.9 or more. The sphericity P is defined as P=Ls/Lr, where Lr is a perimeter of an L10-FeNi magnetic powder particle on an image of a microscope, and Ls is a perimeter of a perfect circle that has a same area as the L10-FeNi magnetic powder particle on the image for which Lr is calculated.
Compression-bonded magnet with case and method for producing the same
There is provided a compression-bonded magnet with a case, which can realize high magnetic properties, high corrosion resistance and high durability strength even at low cost. The compression-bonded magnet with a case is a compression-bonded magnet with a case 1, comprising: a compression-bonded magnet 2 comprising a rare earth magnet powder such as an isotropic Nd—Fe—B magnet powder and a resin binder of a thermosetting resin; a case 3 for inserting the compression-bonded magnet 2; and a sealing member 4, wherein the compression-bonded magnet 2 is formed by compression-molding a mixture comprising the rare earth magnet powder and the resin binder into a green compact and curing the resin binder contained in the green compact, the rare earth magnet powder is contained in a large amount with respect to the entire compression-bonded magnet (for example, in a volume ratio of 85% to 90%), the sealing member 4 is fixed at an insertion opening part 3a of the case 3, and the compression-bonded magnet 2 is hermetically sealed by the sealing member 4 and the case 3.

A magnet powder having a composition composed of R (R consists of R1 and R2, R1 represents at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu, R2 represents at least one rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Ho and Gd). T (T represents at least one transition metal element containing Fe or the combination of Fe and Co as essential element(s)) and B, wherein, the atomic ratio of R2/(R1×R2) is 0.05 to 0.1, the ratio of R/T is 0.25 to 0.35, and the magnet powder has an average primary particle size of 45 to 100 nm. The present invention also provides a bond magnet using the magnet powder.
R-T-B-BASED RARE EARTH MAGNET PARTICLES, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE R-T-B-BASED RARE EARTH MAGNET PARTICLES, AND BONDED MAGNET
An object of the present invention is to enhance a coercive force of magnetic particles by promoting formation of a continuous R-rich grain boundary phase in a crystal grain boundary of a magnetic phase of the particles, and to thereby obtain R-T-B-based rare earth magnet particles further having a high residual magnetic flux density. The present invention relates to production of R-T-B-based rare earth magnet particles capable of exhibiting a high coercive force even when a content of Al therein is reduced, and a high residual magnetic flux density, in which formation of an R-rich grain boundary phase therein can be promoted by heat-treating Al-containing R-T-B-based rare earth magnet particles obtained by HDDR treatment in vacuum or in an Ar atmosphere at a temperature of not lower than 670° C. and not higher than 820° C. for a period of not less than 30 min and not more than 300 min.
