Electronic Device Having a Sealed Biometric Input System
A portable electronic device may include a housing member defining a side surface of the portable electronic device, a portion of the housing member defining a side wall of a hole extending through the housing member, a button member positioned along the side surface and defining a chassis portion and a hollow post extending into the hole defined through the housing member, and a first waterproof seal defined between the hollow post and the side wall of the hole. The portable electronic device may also include a biometric sensing component coupled to the chassis portion, a flexible circuit element extending through the hollow post and conductively coupling the biometric sensing component to a component within the housing, and a second waterproof seal defined within the hollow post.
SWITCH UNIT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SWITCH SUBSTRATE
A switch unit includes a substrate, which includes a hard layer and a soft layer; a first contact point above the soft layer; a second contact point around the first contact point; a conduction spring member which is elastically deformable into contact with the first contact point to make a conduction between the first contact point and the second contact point; a first external electrode; a first through-hole electrode which is electrically connected to the first contact point; and a first wiring pattern, which is electrically connected to the first external electrode and the first through-hole electrode.
Sensor pad for wearable garments
A sensor pad is provided. The sensor pad comprises a first layer and a second layer of padding material, each having an inner face. The inner face of the first layer is provided with a first printed conductive ink track and the inner face of the second layer is provided with a second printed conductive ink track. At least one of the layers is provided on its inner face with a plurality of raised portions between adjacent runs of the printed track to provide a spacer layer across the sensor pad, which improves the ability of the sensor pad to return to a pre-impact configuration following an impact. The plurality of raised portions maintain the two printed tracks apart when the sensor is unstressed but allow localised contact between the first and second printed tracks when pressure is applied to the sensor pad.
Conducting structure and conducting method for upper sheet and lower sheet of film button circuit
A novel conducting structure and conducting method for an upper sheet and a lower sheet of a film button circuit. A first upper sheet conducting layer and a second upper sheet conducting layer are coated in sequence on an upper sheet conducting contact point. A first lower sheet conducting layer and a second lower sheet conducting layer are coated in sequence on a lower sheet conducting contact point. The first upper sheet conducting layer, the second upper sheet conducting layer, the second lower sheet conducting layer and the first lower sheet conducting layer are overlapped in sequence, thereby forming a composite conducting layer that is slightly greater than a back glue layer in thickness. The present invention can simplify assembly processes and can improve the production efficiency.
SENSOR PAD
A sensor is provided, the sensor comprising a first layer (10) of padding material having an inner face and a second layer (12) of padding material having an inner face. The inner faces of the two layers face one another. The inner face of the first layer (10) is provided with a first printed conductive ink track (13) and the inner face of the second layer (12) is provided with a second printed conductive ink track (15). At least one of the printed tracks (13, 15) passes across the pad in a number of runs at a plurality of spaced locations. The first track (13) on the first layer (10) intersects at a plurality of locations with the second track (15) on the second layer (12). At least one of the layers (10, 12) is provided on its inner surface with a plurality of raised portions (12) arranged over the face of the layer (10, 12) between adjacent runs of the conductive track (13, 15) and facing the inner face of the other layer (12, 10) to maintain the two tracks (13, 15) apart when the sensor pad is unstressed, but which are compressible to deform to allow localised contact between the first and second tracks (13, 15) when pressure is applied to the pad.
