EMERGENCY-STOP SWITCH AND MACHINE WITH AN EMERGENCY-STOP SWITCH
20230051205 · 2023-02-16 · ·

The invention relates to an emergency stop switch, having: a switch mechanism with a manually operable switch and with a first contact element which is operatively connected to the switch, wherein the switch is configured to bring the first contact element into contact with a second contact element to trigger an emergency stop function. A cable pull mechanism with a switch tongue guided in a switch tongue guide is connected to a first end of a cable, wherein a switch tongue spring preloads the switch tongue during operation in a direction away from the cable. The cable is connected on its second end with preload to an equalizing spring during operation, wherein the first contact element is operatively connected to the switch tongue. When the preloaded cable is pulled, is guided in the switch tongue guide in the direction of the cable, opposing a spring force of the switch tongue spring, and in the process brings the first contact element into contact with the second contact element in order to trigger the emergency stop function by the cable pull mechanism.

Disconnection Assembly For Tethered Electric Vehicle

An electric vehicle is supplied with power from a power supply via a cable suspended from an anchor. The anchor is attached to a mount on the vehicle and detachable from the mount by tension in the first portion of the cable between the anchor and the power supply. A second portion of the cable between the anchor and the vehicle remains slack in the attached position of the anchor, and extends on detachment of the anchor to relieve tension in the first portion of the cable. A disconnection switch is operable by detachment of the anchor to interrupt the power supply from the cable to the vehicle.

SAFETY SWITCH WITH IMBALANCE TEST

An apparatus for an imbalance test includes a strain measurement module that measures a strain voltage across terminals of a strain gauge. The strain voltage is representative of an amount of force on the strain gauge. The apparatus includes a test measurement module that measures a test voltage across the terminals of the strain gauge while a test resistor is connected in parallel with a resistor of the strain gauge. The test resistor is connected while the test measurement module measures the test voltage and is disconnected while the strain module measures strain voltage. The apparatus includes an average module that calculates an average strain voltage from two strain voltage measurements. The strain voltages are measured preceding and after the test voltage measurement. The apparatus includes a difference module that determines a difference voltage. The difference voltage is a difference between the average strain voltage and the test voltage.

Safety switch and associated methods

A cable pull switch includes a polychotomous sensor configured to provide a reading of at least one of a plurality of values, the reading corresponding to a tension on a pull cable or a linear displacement of an end of a pull cable. A processor coupled to the polychotomous cable pull sensor configured to determine a rate of change of the value of the reading from the sensor and determine an occurrence of a cable pull event, the determination based on the determined rate of change of the value, and determine whether the rate of change of the value of an electrical resistance through the polychotomous cable pull sensor is below a threshold rate of change value, and adjust an upper pull threshold value to a new upper pull threshold value that is based on a present reading of the value of the electrical resistance through the strain gauge.

Connector

A connector includes a male, key-like member that is operably received in a female connector body. The key-like member includes a stem for operative association with a cord or other body and a distal element. The female connector has a body defining a proximal portion for operative association with a cord or other body and a slot extending along a surface of the body to an aperture for receiving a distal element of a first connector element. A first inside channel extends from the slot at a distal end of the connector to a depth from the surface of the slot. A second inside channel extends from the aperture to the first channel. One of the first and second connectors is provided with a sensor. The sensor indicates that the first connector element is located at the distal portion of the inside channel.

Rescue signal transmission system

A ship includes a controller that performs wireless communications with a portable machine possessed by a passenger and a lanyard stop switch. When a lanyard code coupled to the passenger is pulled out, the lanyard stop switch operates to stop an engine of an outboard motor and stop the ship. When the controller detects that the lanyard stop switch operates, that is, detects a possibility that the passenger has fallen overboard, the controller starts wireless communications with the portable machine. The controller determines whether or not a rescue signal needs to be transmitted in accordance with conditions regarding a power density and a frequency of a radio wave of the wireless communications as predetermined conditions for estimating a situation of the passenger.
