A guiding pull ring member for guiding a unit top contact in a switch assembly into a mounting contact. The guide ring member includes a mounting ring defined in a first plane, a grasping ring coupled to one side of the mounting ring and being defined in a second plane perpendicular to the first plane, and a V-shaped guide piece coupled to the mounting ring at a side opposite from the grasping ring and extending perpendicular to the first plane. The guiding pull ring member has particular application for a solenoid operated vacuum interrupter recloser switch mounted to a utility pole.

Power outage isolation device

This disclosure relates generally to power isolation switch devices. In one embodiment, a power isolation switch device has a power insulator, an arc breaker, and a switch. The power insulator and the switch are connected in parallel. The arc contact is operably associated with the switch such that the arc contact is removed from the arc chute as the switch is opened and is inserted to contact the arc chute when the switch is closed. In this manner, the power isolation switch device does not need an interrupter and can be provided so as to be less bulky.

CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SEPARABLE LOAD-BREAK ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS

An apparatus includes: a plurality of separable load break devices, each separable load break device including: a resettable current interruption device associated with operating states, the operating states including at least a first operating state that prevents current flow in the resettable current interruption device and a second operating state that allows current flow in the resettable current interruption device; a switch control configured to control the operating state of the resettable current interruption device; a connection interface configured to mechanically connect the load break device to a separate electrical device and to electrically connect the resettable current interruption device to the separate electrical device; and an electrical interface configured to electrically connect the resettable current interruption device to a load. The apparatus also includes a control system configured to provide electrically ganged operation of the plurality of load break devices.

PIVOT SUPPORTING STRUCTURE AND CIRCUIT BREAKER
20170250047 · 2017-08-31 ·

A pivot supporting structure for a circuit breaker and a circuit breaker. The pivot supporting structure comprises: a supporting body having a supporting hole for receiving and pivotally supporting a pivot pin connected to an actuating mechanism of the circuit breaker, wherein at least one strain gauge are mounted to the supporting body for sensing the force acting on the pivot supporting structure by the actuating mechanism. This pivot supporting structure can accurately sense the characteristic force applied, such that the contact force and mechanical characteristics of the circuit breaker can be on-line monitored.

Integrated Switchgear Assembly

An integrated assembly includes a switchgear apparatus for operation at voltages up to 72.5 kV and a mount assembly for coupling to a pole and to support the switchgear apparatus. The mount assembly includes a crossbar, a pole mount, a mounting bracket to support the switchgear apparatus, and a pair of crossbar mounts for supporting the mounting bracket on the crossbar at different positions. Each crossbar mount includes a first arm, a second arm spaced from the first arm and extending parallel to the first arm, a third arm extending between and coupled to a distal end of each of the first and second arms, and a flange extending between and coupled to a proximal end of each of the first and second arms. The flange extends parallel to the third arm. The first, second, and third arms and the flange form an enclosed space to receive the crossbar.

Gas circuit breaker system and method thereof

The present invention concerns a gas insulated circuit breaker system. The system comprises a base station, an insulating column, a transition elbow and an interrupting chamber. With the placement of motion transferring mechanisms in the base station and the transition elbow, the system allows the opening and closing of the integrated circuit breaker within the interrupting chamber in a compact and efficient configuration from a link to an external control module in the base station.

Dropout recloser

A dropout recloser is capable of in accordance with its operating programming after a predetermined number of fault interrupting operations, e.g., 1, 2, 3 or more but typically 3, to drop out of a cutout and hang freely in a hinge contact of the cutout providing sectionalization with an observable visible gap. The recloser includes fault interrupting and reclosing components, a drop out mechanism and a controller. The drop out mechanism may include a bi-stable actuator to affect fault interrupting operation and dropout operation. The device may include motion limiting structures. The recloser may have a number of operating modes or sequences.

Arrangement and method for switching high voltages having a switching device and precisely one resistor stack

An arrangement and a method have precisely one resistor stack for switching high voltages. The arrangement contains a switching device that has two contact devices, which are arranged in an insulator. The contact devices are separated from each other by a separation path, wherein the separation path can be bridged by a movable contact piece. One contact device is in contact with the resistor stack in a common housing. The common housing is formed by a direct coating of the resistor stack and the insulator.
