HIGH VOLTAGE DISCONNECT SWITCH WITH SWITCH INTERRUPTER HAVING AN ACTUATING ARM ACTUATED BY AN ARC HORN WITH A SPRING CATCH
A high voltage air disconnect switch having an electrical load interrupter unit responsive to the opening of the high voltage air break disconnect switch. The electrical load interrupter unit including an actuating arm is contacted, during the opening of the switch, by a moving arc horn attached to and in electrical circuit with a switch blade of the high voltage air disconnect switch. The moving arc horn has operatively attached a spring catch which engages the actuating arm with a physical holding force applied to an electric contact point between the actuating arm and the moving arc horn to firmly capture the interrupter actuating arm against the moving arc horn during opening of the switch to prevent any arc burning damage due to arcing between the actuating arm and the moving arc horn as the switch opens.
Device for interrupting non-short circuit currents only, in particular disconnector or earthing switch
The present invention relates to a device for interrupting non-short circuit currents only, and in particular relates to a disconnector, more particularly high voltage disconnector, or to an earthing switch, more particularly make-proof earthing switch, and further relates to a low voltage circuit breaker. The device comprises at least two contacts movable in relation to each other between a closed state and an open state and defining an arcing region, in which an arc is generated during a current interrupting operation and in which an arc-quenching medium comprising an organofluorine compound is present. According to the application, a counter-arcing component is allocated to the arcing region, the counter-arcing component being designed for counteracting the generation of an arc and/or being designed for supporting the extinction of an arc.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A SWITCHING APPARATUS FOR ELECTRIC SYSTEMS
The present disclosure is directed to a for manufacturing a switching apparatus for electric systems. The method includes (i) providing a first housing shell of the switching apparatus; (ii) providing a second housing shell of the switching apparatus; (iii) assembling the first and second housing shells and a number of operating components of the switching apparatus, thereby obtaining a preliminary assembly of the switching apparatus; and (iv) joining first and second coupling edges of the first and second housing shells through a vibration welding process, thereby forming a junction between the first and second housing shells and obtaining a sealed outer casing for the switching apparatus.
High voltage disconnector
A high voltage disconnection unit includes a fixed contact assembly having at least a first fixed main contact and a first fixed auxiliary contact, a movable contact assembly having at least a first movable main contact and a first movable auxiliary contact that rotate with respect to the first fixed main contact and first fixed auxiliary contact from a contacts closed position to a contacts open position. During an opening operation of the disconnection unit the separation of the first movable main contact from the first fixed main contact takes place before the separation of the first movable auxiliary contact from the first fixed auxiliary contact. The relative opening speed V1 between the first movable auxiliary contact and the first fixed auxiliary contact is greater than the relative opening speed V2 between the first movable main contact and the first fixed main contact.
MECHANICAL CURRENT CUT-OFF DEVICE FOR HIGH-VOLTAGE DIRECT CURRENT WITH A CAPACITOR IN A SECONDARY PATH, FACILITY AND METHOD USING SUCH A DEVICE
A mechanical cut-off apparatus of a high-voltage electric circuit includes: in a main electrical path a main mechanical switch; in a secondary electrical path, a secondary mechanical switch; a mechanical control configured such that, the secondary mechanical switch is brought to its mechanically open state after the main mechanical switch has been brought to its mechanically open state; the apparatus includes a transition dipole comprising a capacitance, the transition dipole arranged in series with the pair of secondary electrical contacts in the secondary electrical path, and in that the apparatus includes a controlled switch which, in an electrically closed state, creates inside the mechanical cut-off apparatus a bypass that short-circuits the capacitance of the transition dipole.
HIGH VOLTAGE CENTER BREAK DISCONNECT SWITCH WITH TOGGLE DRIVE LOCKING MECHANISM
A high voltage center break disconnect switch with two rotatable switch blades each operatively attached to a respective rotatable insulator for opening and closing the switch. A toggle locking drive assembly including a two-sided lever having three pivot points colinearly aligned thereon and two drive links each connected at one end thereof to one of the three pivot points. The two-sided lever connects at the third pivot point to a perpendicularly attached rotating shaft operatively connected to a drive pipe for opening and closing the switch. The drive links are each connected at the other end to a pivot point of a respective one of two levers each operatively mounted to one of the rotatable insulators. When the switch is in the closed position the five pivot points of the locking toggle drive assembly are aligned colinearly in a toggle lock position preventing the switch from unintended opening.
Intelligent automatic transfer switch module
An automatic transfer switch (100) for automatically switching an electrical load between two power sources is provided. Two power cords (106) enter the ATS (A power and B power inputs) and one cord (109) exits the ATS (power out to the load). The ATS has indicators (107) located beneath a clear crenelated plastic lens (108) that also acts as the air inlets. The ATS (100) also has a communication portal (103) and a small push-button (104) used for inputting some local control commands directly to the ATS (100). The ATS (100) can be mounted on a DIN rail at a rack and avoids occupying rack shelves.
Power outage isolation device
This disclosure relates generally to power isolation switch devices. In one embodiment, a power isolation switch device has a power insulator, an arc breaker, and a switch. The power insulator and the switch are connected in parallel. The arc contact is operably associated with the switch such that the arc contact is removed from the arc chute as the switch is opened and is inserted to contact the arc chute when the switch is closed. In this manner, the power isolation switch device does not need an interrupter and can be provided so as to be less bulky.
