Electromagnetic relay
An electromagnetic relay includes a base, a spool provided on the base, a coil wound on the spool, a yoke inserted into a hole formed in the spool, an armature movably disposed on the base, a movable contact fixed on the base, a static contact fixed on the base, a driving member connected between the armature and the movable contact, and an elastic pressing member fixed on the base. The elastic pressing member is pressed against an outer side of the armature so as to position the armature on the base and provide an auxiliary thrust to the armature.
Vehicle starter with integrated thermal protection
A starter assembly which includes a switch for energizing a solenoid. Energizing the solenoid biases a starter gear into engagement and energizes the starter motor. A thermally responsive switch is positioned to absorb heat generated by operation of the electric motor and is disposed in an electrical line controlling operation of the switch controlling the solenoid wherein opening of the thermally responsive switch results in the opening of the solenoid switch. The use of such a thermally responsive switch de-energizes the electric motor when the electric motor is subjected to elevated operating temperatures that might otherwise cause damage to the electric motor. The starter assembly may also include control circuitry that includes a microprocessor wherein the control circuitry is operably coupled with the switch controlling the solenoid. The control circuitry is programmed to de-energize the solenoid upon the satisfaction of predetermined conditions to thereby prevent damage to the electrical motor.
RELAY DEVICE
A relay device includes a fixed terminal having a pair of fixed contact points, a movable contact portion positioned adjacent to a lower side of the fixed terminal and configured to allow or block energization by being in contact with or spaced apart from the pair of fixed contact points, a fixed core disposed at a predetermined interval below the movable contact portion and configured to be magnetized when control power is applied, a movable core positioned adjacent to a lower side of the fixed core and configured to move toward the fixed core when the control power is applied, and a shaft that passes through the fixed core to connect to the movable contact portion and is coupled to the movable core to move together with the movable core. The shaft is supported by a step portion formed in the movable core to form a stroke gap between the fixed core and the movable core.
