CIRCUIT BREAKER LATCH MECHANISM INTEGRATED INTO THE ROTOR ASSEMBLY

A circuit breaker includes an electrically insulative case and a rotor assembly disposed within the electrically insulative case. The rotor assembly includes a contact arm and a rotor that is rotatable relative to the electrically insulative case. The contact arm is coupled to the rotor and movable between a first position in which a conductive path is closed and a second position in which the conductive path is open. The rotor assembly also includes a latch mechanism coupled to the rotor. The latch mechanism retains the contact arm in the second position during a short circuit event. The latch mechanism is spaced from the contact arm when the contact arm is in the first position. The latch mechanism engages the contact arm when the contact arm is in the second position.

Retaining assembly for a circuit breaker contact system

A moveable contact arm assembly includes a moveable contact arm having a moveable contact thereon. Also included is a carrier assembly operatively coupled to the moveable contact arm. Further included is a first end plate operatively coupled to the carrier assembly and a bottom bracket operatively coupled to the first end plate. Yet further included is a first latch member coupled to the bottom bracket, the first latch member comprising a first guiding surface and defining a first recess portion. Also included is a guide pin extending from the carrier assembly and in contact with the first guiding surface of the first latch member during movement of the moveable contact arm assembly. Also included is a first stop pin extending from the carrier assembly and disposed in the first recess portion of the first latch member in the blow open condition of the circuit breaker.

Moving contact mechanism

A moving contact mechanism with a contact support that rotates around a third axis, a moving contact pivotable around a contact axis, and both ends of the contact spring are a third end of the spring and a fourth end of the spring, respectively, which are rotatably connected to the moving contact and the contact support respectively. A geometric axis of the contact spring is a second axis line located on one side of the third axis when the moving contact is normally on or off. The contact spring keeps the moving contact in an on or off state. The moving contact rotates relative to the contact support when repelled, drives the contact spring to rotate around the fourth end of the spring, so that the second axis line swings to the other side of the third axis, and remains in a temporary breaking position.
