Semitransparent chalcogen solar cell
Semitransparent chalcogen solar cells and techniques for fabrication thereof are provided. In one aspect, a method of forming a solar cell includes: forming a first transparent contact on a substrate; depositing an n-type layer on the first transparent contact; depositing a p-type chalcogen absorber layer on the n-type layer, wherein a p-n junction is formed between the p-type chalcogen absorber layer and the n-type layer; depositing a protective interlayer onto the p-type chalcogen absorber layer, wherein the protective interlayer fully covers the p-type chalcogen absorber layer; and forming a second transparent contact on the interlayer, wherein the interlayer being disposed between the p-type chalcogen absorber layer and the second transparent contact serves to protect the p-n junction during the forming of the second transparent contact. Solar cells and other methods for formation thereof are also provided.

SOLAR CELL MODULE HAVING PARALLEL AND SERIES CONNECTION STRUCTURE
Disclosed is a solar cell module including a first solar cell unit including a plurality of solar cells and a plurality of condensing layers, which are arranged alternately, a second solar cell unit including a plurality of solar cells and a plurality of condensing layers, which are arranged alternately, and each of the plurality of solar cells of the first solar cell unit and the second solar cell unit includes a first electrode disposed on one side thereof and a second electrode disposed on an opposite side thereof, whereby a visibility, by which the light passes through the solar cell module, is increased by including the plurality of solar cells and the plurality of condensing layers, through which a visual ray may pass.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MULTILAYER TRANSPARENT ELECTRODE FOR TRANSPARENT PHOTOVOLTAIC DEVICES
A transparent photovoltaic device includes a transparent substrate, a transparent bottom electrode coupled to the transparent substrate, an active layer coupled to the transparent bottom electrode, and a transparent multilayer top electrode. The transparent multilayer top electrode includes a seed layer deposited on the active layer, a first metal layer deposited on the seed layer, an interconnect layer deposited on the first metal layer, and a second metal layer deposited on the interconnect layer. The transparent photovoltaic device is characterized by an average visible transmission (AVT) greater than 25% and a top electrode sheet resistance that is less than 100 Ohm/sq.
Single cell photovoltaic module
A photovoltaic module includes a first transparent electrode layer characterized by a first sheet resistance, a second transparent electrode layer, and a photovoltaic material layer. The photovoltaic material layer is located between the first transparent electrode layer and the second transparent electrode layer. The photovoltaic module also includes a first busbar having a second sheet resistance lower than the first sheet resistance. The first transparent electrode layer, the second transparent electrode layer, and the photovoltaic material layer have an aligned region that forms a central transparent area of the photovoltaic module. The central transparent area including a plurality of sides. The first busbar is in contact with the first transparent electrode layer adjacent to at least a portion of each of the plurality of sides of the central transparent area.
Single cell photovoltaic module
A photovoltaic module includes a first transparent electrode layer characterized by a first sheet resistance, a second transparent electrode layer, and a photovoltaic material layer. The photovoltaic material layer is located between the first transparent electrode layer and the second transparent electrode layer. The photovoltaic module also includes a first busbar having a second sheet resistance lower than the first sheet resistance. The first transparent electrode layer, the second transparent electrode layer, and the photovoltaic material layer have an aligned region that forms a central transparent area of the photovoltaic module. The central transparent area including a plurality of sides. The first busbar is in contact with the first transparent electrode layer adjacent to at least a portion of each of the plurality of sides of the central transparent area.
Semitransparent thin-film solar module
A thin-film solar module with a substrate and a layer structure applied thereon comprising a rear electrode layer, a front electrode layer, and an absorber layer arranged between the back electrode layer and the front electrode layer. Serially connected solar cells are formed in the layer region by patterning zones, having a rear electrode layer section. The layer region has at least one linear decoating region. The decoating region has an alternating sequence of optically transparent zones and electrode zones. The optically transparent zones are rear-electrode-layer-free and the electrode zones are absorber-layer-free and have a rear electrode layer section. The rear-electrode-layer-sections of at least one pair made up of one solar cell of one solar cell string and one solar cell of the other solar cell string are areally connected to one another by the rear-electrode-layer-section of at least one electrode zone.
Semitransparent thin-film solar module
A thin-film solar module with a substrate and a layer structure applied thereon comprising a rear electrode layer, a front electrode layer, and an absorber layer arranged between the back electrode layer and the front electrode layer. Serially connected solar cells are formed in the layer region by patterning zones, having a rear electrode layer section. The layer region has at least one linear decoating region. The decoating region has an alternating sequence of optically transparent zones and electrode zones. The optically transparent zones are rear-electrode-layer-free and the electrode zones are absorber-layer-free and have a rear electrode layer section. The rear-electrode-layer-sections of at least one pair made up of one solar cell of one solar cell string and one solar cell of the other solar cell string are areally connected to one another by the rear-electrode-layer-section of at least one electrode zone.
