FUEL CELL SYSTEM
A fuel cell system that generates electric power by supplying anode gas and cathode gas to a fuel cell includes a control valve adapted to control the pressure of the anode gas to be supplied to the fuel cell; a buffer unit adapted to store the anode-off gas to be discharged from the fuel cell; a pulsation operation unit adapted to control the control valve in order to periodically increase and decrease the pressure of the anode gas at a specific width of the pulsation; and a pulsation width correcting unit adapted to correct the width of the pulsation on the basis of the temperature of the buffer unit.
Reaction device and fuel cell power generation system
A reaction device comprising: a first flow path to which a fuel gas is supplied; a second flow path to which a gas containing oxygen is supplied; a hydrogen permeable membrane that separates the first flow path and the second flow path and allows hydrogen contained in the fuel gas supplied to the first flow path to permeate toward the second flow path; and a catalyst that is provided in the second flow path and promotes oxidation reaction between the oxygen and hydrogen passing through the hydrogen permeable membrane, wherein the hydrogen permeable membrane comprises a barium zirconium oxide membrane.
FUEL CELL STAGING FOR MOLTEN CARBONATE FUEL CELLS
Systems and methods are provided for using fuel cell staging to reduce or minimize variations in current density when operating molten carbonate fuel cells with elevated CO.sub.2 utilization. The fuel cell staging can mitigate the amount of alternative ion transport that occurs when operating molten carbonate fuel cells under conditions for elevated CO.sub.2 utilization.
COOLING APPARATUS OF FUEL CELL VEHICLE
Disclosed is a cooling apparatus of a fuel cell vehicle, including an air supply part, an air conditioning part that cools air discharged from the air supply part, and a valve provided at a rear end of the air supply part and that communicates cooled air discharged from the air supply part with a fuel cell part or a battery.
Method for treating hydrogen-containing and oxygen-containing residual gases of fuel cells, and residual gas treatment system
A method for treating hydrogen-containing and oxygen-containing residual gases of fuel cells, wherein the residual gases are fed to a gas circuit, and a residual gas mixture resulting therefrom is circulated in the gas circuit by a device for converting hydrogen and oxygen to water. In order to reduce the amount of hydrogen and oxygen in the residual gas mixture, at least part of the residual gas mixture is discharged from the gas circuit.
Method for humidifying a reactant, and fuel cell system for carrying out the method
A method for humidifying a reactant in a fuel cell system is provided having a fuel cell stack, which is fluidically connected to a humidifier, wherein the humidifier comprises a membrane, on whose surface channels are formed. At least one of the channels is associated with a storage element for temporary storing of liquid water, the method involving the following steps: extracting the liquid water from the fuel cell stack and feeding the liquid water to the humidifier, admitting at least part of the liquid water into the storage element and temporarily storing the part therein, at least partially emptying the storage element by evaporating of the liquid water and humidifying of the reactant being supplied to the fuel cell stack by means of the evaporated liquid water, wherein the liquid water is extracted from the fuel cell stack both at the anode side and at the cathode side. A fuel cell system for carrying out the method is also provided.
Fuel cell system
A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell, first and second supply devices, a gas-liquid separator, a discharge valve, first and second ejectors for discharging fuel gas and off gas to the fuel cell, a measuring device for gas pressure, and a control device. The first ejector has a discharge amount smaller than the second ejector. The first ejector has a circulation amount larger than the second ejector. The control device executes the supply during a first time from the first supply device at each first cycle such that the pressure becomes a first target value, and when the first ejector is in an abnormal state, stops the first supply device, executes the supply during a shorter second time from the second supply device at each shorter second cycle such that the pressure becomes a higher second target value, and opens and closes the discharge valve at each first cycle.
