Coaxial RF switch with confinement flexures and method of making same
A coaxial RF switch comprising a pair of coaxial conductors and a confinement flexure affixing to a conductor reed, wherein said confinement flexure having at least one fixed end such that the conductor reed can move freely and consistently to make and break the connections to the coaxial conductors.
ROTARY SWITCH FOR LOW PASSIVE INTERMODULATION CONNECTION
A low passive intermodulation (PIM) RF rotary switch comprises a plurality of center conductors connected to stationary pads, at least two rotatable pads being connected by a rotatable pad bridge. Depending on the switching state of the switch, at least two stationary pads are in close proximity to at least two rotatable pads, at a distance sufficient to generate/form a RF signal connection between the center conductors via the stationary and rotatable pads.
Non-contact type coaxial switch
A non-contact type coaxial switch that eliminates all contacts and inner conductors. The switch includes a stator/coax base assembly and a rotor. The stator/coax base assembly is fixed, while the rotor is rotatably mounted to the stator/coax base assembly and eliminates all contacts and inner conductors. The rotor is disposed between bearings, and consists of waveguide paths that couple between selected coax connectors. When the rotor is rotated, different selected coax connectors occur. For other arrangements selected, the rotor can switch between a condition of coax and waveguide outputs. The rotor, between bearings, consists of waveguide paths which couple between selected coax connectors. When the rotor is rotated, a different selected coax connector occurs. For other arrangements selected, the rotor can switch between a combination of coax and waveguide outputs. The switch can assume many configurations. For example, a Double-Pole-Double-Throw (DPDT) configuration; a 3 and 4 Way R-Type configuration; a Single-Pole-Multiple-Throw (SPMT) configuration; a T-Switch configuration; and a Multiple-Pole-Multiple-Throw (MPMT) configuration.
Coaxial switches and methods for using the same
A coaxial switch includes a conductive housing defining a central bore and a front plane that is oriented transverse to the central bore, a switch assembly including a stationary contact including a stationary engagement end, a stationary coupling end opposite the stationary engagement end, a movable contact including a movable engagement end, a movable coupling end opposite the movable engagement end, and a planar conductor engagement region positioned adjacent to the movable engagement end, where the movable engagement end is positionable in an engaged position and a disengaged position, and a dielectric front pad positioned between the conductive housing and the movable contact, where the dielectric front pad defines a central aperture through which the planar conductor engagement region has an unobstructed line of sight with the front plane of the conductive housing.
Rotatable coaxial switching device including electrical connections configured for providing capacitive coupling
A switching device for connecting coaxial cables is specified. The switching device includes: a housing with at least two coaxial connectors; a switch rotor arranged in the housing such that it can be rotated about a longitudinal axis; and a first electrical connection, which passes through the switch rotor and in a predetermined position of the switch rotor capacitively couples a first coaxial connector and a second coaxial connector, thus creating an electrical connection between the first coaxial connector and the second coaxial connector.
Antenna connector with integrated coaxial 50-ohm radio-frequency switch
An antenna connector for a portable communication device including, in one implementation, a housing bracket, a core mounting member, a front mounting member, and a back mounting member. The housing bracket includes an antenna barrel that is configured to engage a ferrule antenna connector. The core mounting member includes a radio-frequency (RF) switch that includes a ground barrel, a first electrical contact, and a second electrical contact. The second electrical contact is configured to disconnect from the first electrical contact when a coaxial connector engages completely with the ground barrel. The front mounting member includes a front guiding section that is configured to connect with the core mounting member. The front guiding section is further configured to align the ground barrel with the antenna barrel. The back mounting member includes a back guiding section to keep the core mounting member connected to the front guiding section.
