Water and Electrical Supply System for Firefighting
A water and electrical supply system for firefighting may provide both a supply of water and electrical power that are usable by a load device(s), such as an electric pumping system or a battery charging system of a firefighting vehicle such as a fire engine. An electrical connector may be mounted in a connector housing, which may be supported by a hydrant. The electrical connector may be de-energized in a default non-use state.
Water resistant connector for noninvasive patient monitor
Systems and methods are provided for water resistant connectors. A male connector includes a rib or a draft angle that creates a seal when engaged with a female connector. A male connector includes an overmold that includes or is made of a thermoplastic elastomer. Male or female connectors include molds that include or are made of a thermoplastic polymer, such as polypropylene. A female connector includes spring contacts that fit within individual pockets of the female connector.
Assembly of an electric cable with a cable terminal
Method for crimping a cable terminal onto an electric cable includes providing an electric cable having an outer insulation sheath and at least one conductive strand with a sheathed portion, and providing a terminal having shrink wings and provide a gasket having a sealing portion and a shrink portion. The method also includes stripping the electrical cable so that a stripped portion is formed, positioning the shrinkage portion of the joint so that it directly overlaps the stripped portion of the cable without the shrinkage portion overlapping the sheathed portion of the cable, and fully crimping the shrink wings onto the shrink portion of the joint without the shrink wings covering the sheathed portion of the cable.
Sealed Cable Feedthrough of a Plug Connector
A sealed cable feedthrough of a plug connector includes a housing having an opening receiving a cable, a cover partially covering the opening, the cover having a through hole receiving the cable along an insertion direction, and a seal member sealing an interface between the housing and the cover. The seal member has a tubular member with a through hole receiving the cable along the insertion direction. The tubular member is arranged within the through hole of the cover and extends along a direction parallel to the insertion direction. The tubular member seals an interface between the cover and the cable.
Power connector with spring-biased elastomeric conductor seal for submersible pump
An electrical power connector for an electrical submersible well pump motor has a housing having a bore. A pair of rigid insulators are within the bore of the housing, each of the insulators having a cylindrical outward-facing side that is in contact with an inward-facing side wall of the housing. A resilient elastomer seal is sandwiched between the insulators in sealing engagement with the inward-facing side wall. Passages extend through each of the insulators and the elastomer seal for receiving insulated conductors of a power cable. A spring in abutment with one of the insulators exerts an axial compressive force on the elastomer seal.
Electric vehicle charging connector
An electrical connector includes a plurality of cylindrical electrical terminals connected to ends of a plurality of first electrical cables, a housing defining a plurality of housing terminal cavities in which the plurality of cylindrical electrical terminals is disposed, and a cover attached to the housing having a plurality of cover cavities that is axially aligned with the plurality of housing terminal cavities. The plurality of cover cavities is configured to receive the plurality of cylindrical electrical terminals as it is inserted within the plurality of housing terminal cavities.
Power connector having a wire release mechanism
A power connector includes a terminal block holding terminals in terminal channels with terminating ends configured to be electrically coupled to corresponding wires at separable interfaces. The power connector includes a rear insert covering the terminating ends of the terminals having wire ports configured to receive the corresponding wires during a wire poke-in process. The power connector includes biasing members associated with the terminals each including a pusher configured to be biased against the wire to push the wire into direct physical contact with the separable interface of the corresponding terminal. The power connector includes a release mechanism includes a plurality of pusher release elements. The release mechanism is actuated to release the pushers of each of the biasing members from the corresponding wires.
Electrical female terminal
An electrical female terminal for mating with a connector assembly generally including a main body, a two-bodied spring, and a wire fastening portion. A protrusion extends from an unattached end portion of the lever member, the protrusion having faces angled relative to each other to efficiently deflect the lever member upwards when the protrusion interacts with an internal protrusion of a housing or a connector assembly. A top portion of the retainer member of the electrical female terminal, located above the two-bodied spring, has a dimple portion. The terminal face or leading end portion of the electrical female terminal is prevented from damaging or cutting a silicone seal. The overstress feature of the tang member of the lever is improved upon by relocating and reshaping the protruding member thereof. The configuration or shape of the cross-section across the upper portion and the support member at the front end portion of the main body of the electrical female terminal is substantially U-shaped. The configuration or shape of the cross-section across the attached end portion of the lever member of the electrical female terminal is also substantially U-shaped. The electrical female terminal is formed as a continuous and contiguous single construction having included therein at least the main body, the two-bodied spring, and the wire fastening portion and/or the lever member (or tang member), along with the neck member that joins the main body and the wire fastening portion.
RUBBER PLUG HOLDING DEVICE AND ELECTRIC WIRE INSERTION DEVICE
A rubber plug holding device 30 includes a plurality of first clamp members 31 located around a predetermined central line CL so as to form a space 51 inner thereto in which a cylindrical rubber plug 5 is allowed to be located; a first support member 32 supporting the first clamp members 31; and a first actuator 33 driving the first clamp members 31. The plurality of first clamp members 31 include three or more first rubber plug contact portions 31e1, which are on the space 51 inner thereto and are to be in contact with an outer circumferential surface of the rubber plug 5. The first support member 32 supports the first clamp members 31 such that the first rubber plug contact portions 31e1 get closer to, or farther from, the central line CL. The first actuator 33 drives the first clamp members 31 such that the first rubber plug contact portions 31e1 get closer to, or farther from, the central line CL.
