The second metal shield includes a second protruding piece. The mounting block includes a slot for passing through the tail portions of the differential signal terminals. The first protruding piece and the second protruding piece are at least partially inserted into the slot. This arrangement can provide better shielding adjacent to the tail portions of the differential signal terminals, reduce crosstalk, and improve the quality of signal transmission.

Compared with the prior art, the insulating protrusions of the present disclosure is integrally formed with the base, thereby improving the structural strength of the housing and improving the durability of the backplane connector.

A backplane connector includes a housing and a number of terminal modules assembled to the housing. The housing includes a base, a first side wall and a second side wall. The base, the first side wall and the second side wall jointly form a receiving space. The terminal module includes a first signal terminal and a second signal terminal. The housing includes a number of insulating protrusions integrally extending from the base. The insulating protrusions extend into the receiving space. The terminal modules are assembled in the insulating protrusions. Compared with the prior art, the insulating protrusions of the present disclosure is integrally formed with the base, thereby improving the structural strength of the housing and improving the durability of the backplane connector.
CABLE CONNECTOR
A cable connector includes an outer shell having a bore extending between a mating end and a cable end. The outer shell has latch pockets. The cable connector includes a shield received in the outer shell that divides the bore into chambers. The cable connector includes contact holders received in corresponding chambers. Each contact holder includes at least one contact channel and a deflectable latch having a latching head at a distal end of the latch configured to be received in the corresponding latch pocket of the outer shell to axially secure the contact holder in the outer shell. The latch has an interference bump at an inner end of the latch configured to engage the shield to press the latching head of the latch outward. The cable connector includes contacts received in corresponding contact channels of the corresponding contact holders.
