Surgical shaft assemblies with flexible interfaces
A slip ring assembly is used with a surgical shaft assembly. The slip ring assembly includes a slip ring, a first conductor mounted on the slip ring, a commutator rotatable relative to the slip ring, and a second conductor mounted on the commutator. The slip ring assembly further includes a flexible member disposed between the slip ring and the commutator. The flexible member comprises a body and flexible protrusions extending from the body, wherein the flexible protrusions are elastically deformed against the first slip ring.

System for transferring power between a rotating element and a fixed element
A system for transferring current between a rotating element and a fixed element, comprising—a support in the general shape of a sheet (10) comprising a conductive portion (11) electrically connected to the fixed element, —a brush holder (20) mounted on the support (10) and supporting a brush (30) that is pushed into contact against the rotating element, —electrical connection means (42) for connecting the conductive portion (11) of the support to a cable (40) that is joined to the brush (30), wherein a resistive element (12) is situated between the brush (30) and the conductive portion (11) of the support (10) and prevents current from flowing directly between the conductive portion and the brush.

System and method for monitoring the status of one or more components of an electrical machine
Example brush holder assemblies of an electric machine are disclosed. An example brush holder assembly of an electric machine includes a carbon brush including an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface. The brush holder assembly also includes one or more lead wires extending out of the carbon brush at an insertion point on the upper surface and a first cavity extending into the carbon brush from the upper surface at a location spaced away from the insertion point of the one or more lead wires and unobstructed by the one or more lead wires.
Slipring with wear monitoring
A slipring with at least one slip ring module having at least one sliding track, and at least one wear indication track. A wear indication circuit is connected to the at least one wear indication track for monitoring electrical properties of the wear indication track and signaling an abnormal slipring condition. A wear indication track may be exposed to higher load, higher rotation speed, higher brush pressure force, or other lifetime-reducing influence as compared to a normal sliding track.

PROPELLER ASSEMBLY HAVING A BRUSH BLOCK ASSEMBLY
A brush wear indicating arrangement is provided. The brush wear indicating arrangement includes an insert, a first electrically conductive brush, and a wear indicator. The insert is disposed within a brush block housing and defines a first aperture. The first electrically conductive brush is movably engaged within the first aperture. The electrically conductive brush is configured to move outward from the first aperture as a wear surface of the first electrically conductive brush wears. The wear indicator is coupled to the first electrically conductive brush. The wear indicator is configured to extend beyond a first insert face of the insert as wear condition of the wear surface of the first electrically conductive brush exceeds a wear threshold.
