Method for installing a pulling head assembly

A workstation and method for the installation of a pulling head assembly onto one or more conductors of a cabling system are provided. The workstation incorporates one or more of: a conductor clamp that holds the conductors of the cabling system in place during the installation of the pulling head assembly; a cutting guide having indicia marks that indicate the lengths to which to cut the conductors in order to achieve a staggered pattern of pulling eyes attached to the conductors in the pulling head assembly; a stripping tool that is used to remove a portion of the insulation from the terminal end of each conductor so that the end of the conductor may be inserted into the pulling eye; and a crimping tool that is used to crimp the pulling eyes onto the terminal ends of each of the conductors.

Crimp terminal

An electric connector terminal assembly which allows numerous different terminal connector ends and wire diameters to be connected to a single size and type crimp cylinder using an rolled metal strip insert. Preferably, the metal strip is made of copper, and preferably the copper strip is coated with tin. The metal strip is then formed into a cylinder for insertion to the crimp cylinder. A method for connecting a crimp terminal to an electric wire is also disclosed. The method requires cutting a metal strip to form a plurality of parallel compliant members (e.g., fingers) connected to a base, rolling the cut strip to form a cylindrical insert, positioning the insert within a crimp cylinder of an electric connector with the fingers extending toward the mating end, inserting an electric wire within the cylindrical insert, and crimping the crimp cylinder to secure the electric wire within the cylindrical insert and crimp cylinder.

Mounting clip

A mounting clip for connecting a cable terminal of an electrical cable to an electrical unit comprising a receiving portion for one element of a two-element connection system and a groove for receiving at least a part of a cable terminal and/or part of a cable. A nut can be fixedly held in the receiving portion of the clip. A terminal with an opening can be placed between the nut and an electrical unit. A screw can be threaded into the nut to press the terminal against a surface of the electrical unit.

In order to provide a method for establishing an electrically conductive connection between an electrical line which includes a plurality of individual conductors and an electrically conductive component which is easily realizable but nevertheless leads to a corrosion resistant connection between the individual conductors of the electrical line and the electrically conductive component, it is proposed that the method includes producing a crimping element that surrounds the individual conductors sectionally from a crimping element preform by means of a crimping tool, and connecting at least a portion of the individual conductors to the electrically conductive component by an ultrasonic welding process by means of a sonotrode.

A method for manufacturing a power distribution member includes preparing a solid wire with a circular cross-sectional shape, pressing to a portion of the solid wire in a pressing direction orthogonal to the solid wire to cause plastic deformation, thereby forming a pair of small curvature surfaces on an outer circumference of the solid wire on both sides in the pressing direction, the small curvature surfaces having a smaller curvature than an outer circumferential surface of the solid wire before the pressing and facing the pressing direction, preparing a terminal metal piece including a pair of facing walls facing each other and a coupling wall coupling between ends of the pair of facing walls, inserting the solid wire after the pressing between the pair of facing walls of the terminal metal piece in such a manner that one of the pair of small curvature surfaces faces one of the pair of facing walls and the other of the pair of small curvature surfaces faces the other of the pair of facing walls, and, after the inserting, crimping the pair of facing walls onto the solid wire.
