METHOD AND DEVICE FOR STRIPPING METAL FOIL OF SHIELD WIRE
Positioning of a shield electric wire is performed by an insertion jig in front of a peeling jig, and a portion at a distal end of the shield electric wire where a metal foil is exposed is inserted into an electric wire insertion hole of a peeling jig through the center hole of an insertion jig. Air is blown from an opening on an other-end-surface side of the peeling jig toward the distal end of the shielded electric wire, and the metal foil is expanded while being separated from a wire core. A cut is formed from a side of a metal foil expanded by blowing air in a predetermined gap between a one-end-surface of the peeling jig and an end surface of the insertion jig, and the metal foil is cut from the cut as a starting point.

Device and Method for Assembling an Electrical Plug Connector
A device for assembling an electrical plan connector on a first cable end and/or on a second cable end of an electrical cable having one or more inner conductors. The device has at least two independent processing modules for processing the electrical cable. The device also has a common transport unit for transporting the electrical cable between at least two of the processing modules along a transport direction.
Tooling sensing and calibration apparatus and method
A method and apparatus to verify that proper tooling has been installed in a cable preparation apparatus and/or to calibrate the tooling prior to running the cable preparation apparatus with a cable inserted therein. The method includes: inserting a reference device between blades of the cable preparation device; moving the blades inward toward the reference device until the blades engage the reference device; collecting data to determine when the blades engage the reference device; and comparing the collected data of the blades to an expected range of data of the reference device, wherein if the collected data of the blades does not conform to the expected range of data of the reference device the tooling is not validated, and the apparatus alerts the user.
PEELING DEVICE FOR RESIN LAYER COATING RECTANGULAR WIRE AND METHOD OF PEELING OFF RESIN LAYER COATING RECTANGULAR WIRE
A peeling device for a resin layer coating a rectangular wire in which an outer side of a metal conductor having a rectangular shape in cross section is coated with the resin layer, including a processing blade configured to peel off the resin layer, a jig configured to hold the rectangular wire, and a position detection means configured to detect a position of a cutting edge of the processing blade with respect to a surface of the metal conductor, in which the cutting edge of the processing blade is caused to penetrate into a predetermined thickness position of the resin layer, and the processing blade and the rectangular wire are relatively moved in a longitudinal direction of the rectangular wire without contact of the cutting edge with the metal conductor to perform treatment of peeling off the resin layer.
CUTTING ARM FOR A CABLE PREPARATION MACHINE
A cutting arm includes a base having a post receiving passageway extending through the base, a cutting assembly attached to the base, and a sliding plate attached to the base and movable with respect to the base between an engaging position and a releasing position. The sliding plate engages a post disposed in the post receiving passageway in the engaging position and releasably secures the cutting arm to the post.
Method of removing foil shield from cable
A method of removing a foil shield from a cable. The method includes: positioning the cable proximate a heating source; heating the foil shield in a designated area to weaken the foil shield; and removing an outer insulation of the cable and the foil shield after the foil shield has been heated.
Peeling device and method
A peeling device (12) includes a first peeling unit (21) and a second peeling unit (22). When an upper peeling die (33) and a lower peeling die (34) of the first peeling unit (21) are moved forward, an insulating coating (8) is peeled off from upper and lower surface of a coil conductor wire (2), and a conductive portion (7) is cut from the upper surface and the lower surface of the coil conductor wire (2). The conductive portion (7) is formed to have exposed portions (7a) and recessed portions (7b) cut in a trapezoidal shape. A front peeling die (42) and a rear peeling die (43) of the second peeling unit (22) are moved downward while the recessed portion (7b) is placed on and pressed against a second receiving section (41b) of a cradle (41), which peels off the insulating coating (8) and cuts the conductive portion (7).
Cutting unit for stripping cables
A cutting unit for stripping cables in a stripping station includes a base body and a knife holder attached thereto for holding stripping knives. The knife holder is firmly glued to the base body by an epoxy-resin adhesive, whereby the stripping knives are electrically isolated from the base body. The stripping knives are screw-connected with the knife holders. For the reading-out of electrical signals for detection of contact with a conductor the cutting unit has a printed circuit board that is electrically connected with the knife holders by contact screws.
