The first ridge extends along at least a portion of the perimeter of the groove and extends at least partially around the axis. The second ridge protrudes from the surface of the groove toward the axis, and the second ridge extends parallel to the axis along at least a portion of the groove.

Cable processing system

A cable processing system comprises a stripping device for stripping a segment of an outer cladding layer of a cable. The stripping device includes a support frame, and a mounting plate movably mounted on the support frame between a start position and an end position in the axial direction of the cable. The mounting plate includes a first surface and a second surface opposite to each other in an axial direction of the cable. A plurality of cutting units are mounted on the first surface of the mounting plate for cutting off the outer cladding layer in a circumferential direction of the cable. A plurality of stripping units are mounted on the second surface of the mounting plate for slicing the outer cladding layer in the axial direction.

A coating removing device is provided which enables an improved operation efficiency of a middle-stripping operation of a coating element. The coating removing device comprises a circumferential cutter and a longitudinal cutter. The coating element is cut at two locations by the circumferential cutter to form two circumferential cut lines and the coating element is cut between the two circumferential cut lines by the longitudinal cutter so that the coating element can be removed between the two circumferential cut lines from the coated electric wire. This enables an automation of the middle-stripping operation of the coating element and improvement of the operation efficiency.

Manually-operated wire stripper

A manually-operated wire stripper is a device for cutting and removing the electrical insulation from an electrical wire. The device includes a base plate onto which a first mounting plate and a second mounting plate are perpendicularly mounted. A first rod is rotatably mounted through the first mounting plate and the second mounting plate. A cutting assembly is mounted for longitudinal movement to the first rod and may be moved into position such that a blade of the cutting assembly is aligned with a selected slot from a plurality of wire slots traversing through the base plate. An electrical wire may be stripped by inserting the electrical wire through the selected slot, creating a cut in the electrical insulation with the blade, and then manually pulling the electrical wire through the selected slot to remove the electrical insulation along the length of the electrical wire.

A pair of tool parts which include a first and a second tool part, can be secured exchangeably in tool jaws of a hand-held tool and can be moved together by means of the tool jaws, for enclosing a cable, encapsulated with an insulating sheath, over a part of a length of the cable. A receiving region of the tool parts formed when moved together, encloses a semi-circular region of the cable in cross section with a longitudinal dimension and a transverse dimension remains for the cable in each tool part. The receiving region is penetrated by a blade and has an inwardly pointing clearance. A plurality of blades are configured in each tool part, and the blade tips run in accordance with a helical line when the tool parts are moved together. Methods for stripping a cable are also provided.
