Support core for an elastic sleeve
A support core for an elastic sleeve comprises a first cylindrical section disengagably connected to a second cylindrical section. Each cylindrical section has an annular sidewall made up of a plurality of interlocking concave plates extending longitudinally along a portion of the support core between a abutment end and a distal end. The abutment end of each cylinder section includes a generally helical edge. The plurality of concave plates comprises a top and bottom surfaces, having two opposing longitudinal edges extending between said surfaces on opposite sides of the concave plate. Each of the longitudinal edges comprises an interlocking feature that configure to connect to a mating feature of at least one other concave plate to form one of cylindrical sections of the support core.
Method and device for positioning components on a cable
A device and method of positioning a component on a cable. The method includes: moving a collet into position on the component; engaging the component with the collet; moving the collet with the component positioned thereon into alignment with an end of the cable; securing the collet to the end of the cable; moving the component from the collet to the cable; and removing the collet from the end of the cable.
Protection device, assembly and method
A protection device for preventing damage to an elongate flexible member passing through an aperture including a body portion adapted to be inserted into the aperture in a first direction and having an internal passageway for allowing movement of an elongate flexible member therethrough, and at least one latching element pivotally mounted on the body portion. The protection device can be used for protecting an elongate flexible member passing through an aperture in a support pillar of an offshore turbine generator. A method of removing the protection device from an aperture is also disclosed.

Tool for installing cover sleeves on electrical connectors
A method for installing an elastomeric cover sleeve on an electrical connection including a connector and a cable having a cable axis includes: providing an installation tool including a slide portion; premounting the installation tool on the cable such that the slide portion extends along the cable axis and covers a portion of the cable; thereafter, sliding the cover sleeve onto the cable and onto the slide portion of the premounted installation tool to a parked position wherein the slide portion is interposed between the cover sleeve and the cable; installing the connector onto the cable; and thereafter, sliding the cover sleeve along the cable axis and the slide portion onto the connector.
Method for automated splicing and terminating low, medium, high, and extra high voltage cables
A system and method for additively manufacturing splices and terminations for extra high, high, medium and low voltage power cable includes providing an additive manufacturing machine having at least one print head. Cable ends can be secured within a chamber from which atmospheric air can be evacuated and replaced with non-oxidizing gas. A scanning device can determine the composition and position of the various constituents of the cable ends, from which information a controller can determine the printing sequence and print a termination or splice portion.
COLD SHRINK CORE
The present disclosure provides a support core system for deploying a cold shrink rubber over a cable splice connection in an electrical distribution system. The support core system includes a first solid core, a second solid core, and a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film. The first solid core is configured to fit over a cable in the electrical distribution system and hold a first portion of the cold shrink rubber in an expanded state. The cable includes the cable splice connection. The second solid core is configured to fit over the cable and hold a second portion of the cold shrink rubber in an expanded state. The PET film is positioned between the cold shrink rubber and each of the first solid core and the second solid core.

The second tubular unit is installed on the first tubular unit so when extracting a first diameter expansion holding member of the first tubular unit, by supporting the second tubular unit from an outer peripher al side, relative movement in an axial direction and a circumferential direction of the first tubular unit relative to the second tubular unit is suppressed.
